Welcome to the Offroad Oasis!

Located in Silver Lake, this spacious home offers a fun retreat for guests seeking comfort after a long day of sun and sand. With 3 bedrooms plus a loft and a mix of king, queen, and twin beds, there’s plenty of space for a variety of families to relax. Two bathrooms provide convenience, each equipped with a shower and a hair dryer.

~ About the house ~

As you walk up the steps to the wrap-around deck, you will enter the cottage through the mudroom where you can kick off your shoes and begin your relaxing getaway. Here will lead to the kitchen with granite countertops and everything you need to enjoy wonderful family dinners. Open concept dining room and living room with stone fireplace wall all the way up to the vaulted ceiling.

Down the hall you will find 2 bedrooms. One has a Queen bed and one has a King bed. Both have closets and TVs.

Main floor bathroom has a bathub/shower combo.

Upstairs in the loft you will find a Queen bed along with 4 twin xl beds - sleeping up to 6 people! We also have a TV and DVD player in the loft.

In the basement, you will find another private bedroom with a King bed and also another twin xl bed and TV.

A second bathroom down the hall has a stand up shower with benches.

Walkout basement leads to patio with outdoor dining, large griddle grill for BBQing and firepit for nights under the stars. Whether you’re gathering for a cozy night in or planning your next outdoor adventure, this home welcomes you with warmth and ease. Enjoy all that Mears has to offer when you stay at our oasis.

Family dunes annual trip

This was a great house to stay in and the location was good. Was close to the silver lake sand dunes which is why we come up here. Was able to park my trailer in the driveway without a problem. This is a great place to stay at and would come back again. Thank you

My son was married at the Heritage Wedding Barn and we got this property for that reason. It was only like 6 minutes away so this was perfect! We were very pleased with the house and property. Very well maintained and clean. The house inside is very light and airy and just has a good feel. Lots of room in and out. Nice patio and also outdoor area in back that is well lit. The owners Rachel and Paul were extremely helpful and always got back to me right away when I had questions. If we ever go back to the area we would definitely get this house again. It was just perfect for us.

Overall it couldn't have been a better trip. The house was wonderful and clean! Communication with Paul and Rachel was always quick and easy, this is going to be our new place to rent when we come to Silver Lake!! And we love that we can bring our 2 furbabies with us!!

Perfect!

My family and I just stayed for 5 nights, ages ranging from 9 months to 71 years old. The space was fantastic, and we loved having separate living spaces/plenty of room to spread out and hang out. Two people in our group also brought their 5th wheel and there was plenty of room in the driveway for it (42 ft). The location is unbeatable and the hosts were always friendly and prompt when responding to us (no issues, just several inquiries to plan for our stay). The house was clean and we felt very comfortable during our visit. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

We came to Silver Lake for a wedding, which was just down the road at the heritage barn. It was the perfect location for us, the house was immaculate, and had everything we needed for our stay. I will defitekyveetun in the future!!

Great stay, as advertised

Great property. We had a family of 5. The adults stayed upstairs, the kids had a whole downstairs to themselves. Perfect! Plenty of room, great dining table on main floor for playing games. We did not use the outside, but there was a nice porch off the front for coffee in the morning and a firepit out back. I also had a large (28') enclosed trailer for our toys and it was very easy to back in and get out of the driveway. All around a great place and we would definitely stay again if we come back to Silver Lake!

Great trip

We had an excellent stay at the Silver Lake Custom Cottage. It was more spacious then we thought, and it was the best equipped VRBO we have stayed in. We loved being able to bring our furry friends for their first dunes adventure. We come up at least once every summer and will definitely stay here again.

Great for a family getaway

The house was awesome and conveniently located from the downtown area, Mac Dune Rides, the lighthouse & Lake Michigan beach. There was plenty of room with my son's wife and 2 grandkids having their own space in the basement while the rest of us occupied the first and second floor bedrooms. Lot's to do and see in the Silver Lake area. Awesome trip!!
