Comfortable hotel, good sized room in a beautiful location.
A really nice hotel. We enjoyed our short stay. The room was spacious, clean and had good facilities. My only slight issue was that breakfast was a buffet. I prefer breakfast to be cooked to order.
Quiet place, good parking, friendly staff, good breakfast

Liked: Staff & service
The only issue had was that we thought the breakfast could have been hotter. The other food was excellent. Our car broke down as we were leaving but the staff were lovely. Made it clear we were welcome to stay inside while we waited for the RAC. They couldn’t have been better

Friendly staff, welcoming team. The hotel was veery busy for a function, so perhaps some things were overlooked.
The room was fine, perhaps a bit tired. No hairdryer was available, there were three coat hangers. A tea and coffee making station was present.
My bathroom shower soap dispenser was empty, the carpet clearly could have done with a hoover.
Our stay was excellent. This was our second visit and once again did not disappoint.
The welcoming as always was pleasant the room comfortable and the staff lovely. We had dinner in the restsurant the nights we were there and the food was far more better than the Hilton .
The scenery was stunning and it is so peaceful a great place to unwind and relax.they also have a actives ie fishing shooting, horse riding never done them yet but i think you would have to call then to arrange these actives.
The train station is about 10 mins away at Tweedbsnk so Edinburgh was quite easy to get to and from.free parking at the station .
A perfect place for a relaxing break.easy beautiful landscape and history.
Lovely location and very helpful staff. The rooms were large and comfortable but perhaps a little dated for some people.plenty of hot water and a good shower. The food is very enjoyable and a good ammount to.chhose from for breakfast. We will return when next working in the area.
We have stayed on 2 occasions and find the hotel ideal for our needs.

The property is in a lovely location and is a bit tired. The evening meals were good.
Enjoyed the stay. Very tranquil surroundings, quite remote but only a short drive to several places of interest. Liked walking down to the river before breakfast
Lovely property with great views and walks around garden and down to river. Very beautiful area. Room lovely, comfortable and clean and very well furnished. Staff all very helpful and kind.
Only issue was evening meal where we found portions far too large so lots of food was wasted. Also felt menu was too large for chefs to cope with as hotel was very busy. Our meals were pasta which was tasty but overcooked and risotto, also very tasty but very overcooked. Suggestion would be to reduce the large menu and allow chefs time to focus because they clearly are good cooks. Breakfast was lovely.
