We stayed one night there, staff were very nice and helpful and we had a superb dinner at the hotel.
Our room was on the lower ground floor and reception was two floors above so I would not recommend this place for anyone with mobility issues plus we kept hearing doors banging until past midnight (there was a staff excess door leading to the garden and anyone goes in or out they just slammed the door on their way).
The room was simply perfect and bathroom was very clean, big and bright and bed really comfortable.
I would say breakfast operation was very chaotic, it really needed a better supervision and possibly more staff as the ones working there were under a lot of stress trying to manage the whole operation.
Please do not be offended by my comments as they are meant as constrictive feedback and should not be taken in any other way.
Convenient location attractive gardens.Situated on the banks of the Menai straits overlooking Snowdonia . Unique building with magnificent period rooms. We had breakfast and dinner both of which were excellent. Served by friendly and attentive staff.
What an amazing hotel, fantastic staff and a wonderful almost enchanting location. I felt like king of the castle staying here not only by the surroundings but by the attentive staff!
The chateau is beautiful and the views are stunning, the receptionist and staff are very good however some things let it down. The room we stayed in was in the lodge, and I could hear the bloke in the room next to us snore and turn over in bed. The room had reproduction furniture and generally had the overall feel of cheap rather than luxury. We ate in the restaurant which had little atmosphere, the food was very good, however for the prices paid the annoyances were cheap stainless steel cutlery, cheap crockery, a side plate that was laid on the right rather than the left and no bread served with the meal. It just felt like corner cutting was happening, which would be fine if what we had paid was at a lower price but it was an expensive meal and overnight stay where actually you expect geniune wood furniture over cheap ikea quality and proper cutlery.
Noisy in the lodge..plumbing noisy as well as thin walls. Mixer tap in bathroom struggked yo get vold water. Towel rail hot ..no signage how to turn down or off...but room spacious...
Such an amazing building, both inside and out. Views from the terraced gardens were beautiful. We stayed in the adjacent lodge but ate breakfast in the chateau which was superb. Our room had such a lovely view and parking was good. One slight niggle was the noise of the plumbing from other rooms in this building. Also the gardens looked a little neglected. Such a shame because they could be beautiful.
Fantastic! Had the lodge suite and it was overlooking the water. The service and friendliness of the staff are really fantastic and the hotel is gorgeously quaint. A beautiful spot for a getaway.
I liked that the hotel rang me 1x week prior to my stay to make sure I was happy and to remind me of everything they have to offer so that I could book in advance. The staff were extremely friendly and took time to make sure I was well looked after even thought they had a wedding to attend to on the day of our arrival. The breakfast was brilliant with plenty of options and the location and ability to take in the views from the hotel was perfect
I had booked double room on suite in the chateau. When I arrived I was given a room in the lodge & the bathroom was down the hall just for us . No where when I booked with hotels .com did it mention this . The chateau said it did but I checked my info & it didnât . I was disappointed, as I paid to stay in the chateau ! The parking was limited near front entrance & was only told when we checked in that parking was available near the lodge . It would have been helpful if an email had been sent explaining this .
Very unique French themed hotel. We were lucky with the spring weather which made it all feel continental with the wonderful gardens and Eryri as a backdrop
Evening meal in Sunday was excellent and the breakfast generous and set well for the day
Delicious food at dinner, ok service, room was a bit tired but a gorgeous shower in the turret (no hand held shower which is annoying nor hocks for the towel close to the shower), the food at breakfast was less than average with overwhelmed / disorganised staff who didnât offer a good level of service.
Wonderful setting with great views. Traditional style in the main chateau with more modern separate lodge rooms. Friendly staff and good value. Very good breakfast.
marvellous chateau.stayed in a lodge in the grounds.the views were stunning of the menai straits.the only complaint i had was the heating in our bathroom wasnt very eco friendly.towel rail was far to hot and i mean hot .might be dangerous if small child was in the room.Could easily get burnt. But everything was lovely.Young girl in the restaraunt in evening was delightful.she was from lancashire and a student i cant remember her name but she did tell us.
Building itself is beautiful and the location is amazing. For the price however i would have expected more attention to detail. I understand that it is an old building and only so much can be done, However the things we saw are things that should be addressed. There was a loose floor tile in the bathroom, coffee/tea splatters up the wall, paint flaking and cracks on the walls and the Mattress (or should i say half of it) really needs replacing. it feels very strange when laying in bed and you face your partner and they seem like they are laying on a lower bed.
