You will not find another cabin like this one! The Nest @ Hoot Owl Hollow is like 2 cabins in one, the king suites are very private. Professionally decorated with comfort & style in mind. Enjoy beautiful woods view & walk to Mentone's village & Brow. Renovated classic 1880's log cabin, perfect place to unwind & reboot in comfy, rustic/modern style. MBR ensuite bath w/2 vanities, clawfoot tub, shower. GBR w/bath & separate bunkroom for kids of all ages. Modern kitchen w/gas range . Covered front porch & stone patio with wood fireplace, wood included. Living room has gas fireplace & comfortable seating. Perfect for couples/ families!
You will feel like you are in the middle of the woods YET you are only a couple of "blocks" away from Mentone's Log Cabin Village, The Wildflower Cafe (3/10 mile) , Elevation Bistro (4/10 mile) & Mentone Market (4/10 mile) .
On Saturday's you can walk to Mentone's Farmer Market, next to the Mentone Inn (2/10 mile walk) & have lunch @ Fontastic Food Truck (slow cooking, worth the wait!)
Brow Park is a 7/10 mile walk from The Nest.
DeSoto Falls is 3.1 miles or less than 10 minute drive.
DeSoto State Park is 8.6 miles or 15-20 minute drive.
Little River Canyon Center is 18 miles or 27 minute drive.
You may see turkey, deer, groundhogs or even a bear walking through the woods of The Nest.

This cottage is so welcoming. Clean, cozy. Everything we needed for our 4 day stay. Peaceful and relaxing. The art gave us something to talk about for a few days. Do write down directions and door codes before you get there, no signal on the driveway. Strong internet once signed in. Very convenient to town and surrounding areas Wish we could have stayed longer.

We enjoyed this cozy cabin that was tucked away in the woods, and yet not such a long way from the conveniences of town and getting back on the interstate. Our stay at the Nest was perfect! The cabin was incredibly comfortable & wonderfully decorated. It had all the character of being a historical cabin but all the comforts of home. We loved the central living space - perfect for watching a movie. The WiFi & smart tv works perfectly. We wished it was cold enough for a fire because the fireplaces were huge. The bunk area & oversized chairs were a favorite for hanging out. We got an afternoon shower & could hear rain on the tin roof which was so relaxing. The air conditioning was cold & quiet. All guests agreed that the beds & linens were so comfortable we tried to see what brand they were so we could buy our own. The showers had great hot water/pressure. The extra attention to detail with lights, plug hooks, furniture, & local art decor was a really nice touch. The yard was huge & the dogs loved exploring. The front porch, rocking chairs & string lights was an excellent feature. We didn’t grill but we will next time. The whole area was extremely quiet & you felt like you were deep in the woods on a retreat but had the best amenities. Our only issue was we did not research the area before hand & didn’t realize most things were closed early in the week. This was our fault though & didn’t really matter as everything we wanted to do was outside. We did wish we would have read the info that said to bring food bc stores were a little far & the cabin had everything you needed to cook. We loved our time & plan to come back next year.

The Nest felt like home

We booked a last minute stay at the Nest for Spring Break and could not have been happier. The cabin was perfectly decorated and had all the modern amenities that made our stay super relaxing. And the beds! SO comfy it was hard to get out every morning. :) can’t wait to go back again!!

Wonderful Weekend

Decided on a last minute getaway and it was great! The cabin was quirky and so fun! We did not take our children but noticed it was probably better suited for older kids or those that aren't on the move yet. It was exceptionally clean and the owners were so easy to get in touch with. We went in February and it was chilly in the cabin, warmed up with the gas fireplace and heaters but just something to keep in mind. Mentone is a jewel and this cabin is definitely worth the rental!

Getting renewed in the Lord

Such a wonderful time in this charming cabin. Pat and Juli are wonderful hosts. And our visitor “Otis” was just a precious gift from the Lord visiting us. Otis is a sweet black lab and his owner is just as sweet. Recommend this charming cabin. The ladies of The CALL (Church at Lay Lake) will be back.

Wonderful cabin in the woods

Arrived to a clean and warm cabin. Communication with Juli was great and she went above and beyond for us. The bunk bed room was a thrill for my 7 and 4 year grandsons. Only slight surprise was that the bunk room is accessed through the second king bedroom but not an issues for us. The cabin stayed very comfortable even with temperatures dropping to 20 degrees. The gas fireplace was great. Holiday decorations and the Hoot Owl theme were nice. We loved the location being close to Mentone Market and DeSoto Falls. Sadly, we missed the snow by 7-8 days. Would definitely stay again.
