The Horseshoe - spacious pool & sunset roof terrace

Unwind at this stunning colonial home in the heart of vibrant downtown. The Horseshoe Merida, with its original tiled floors and soaring high-beamed ceilings, is newly renovated for a luxuriously modern yet charming feel. Soak in the freestanding tub, then fall asleep in a heavenly bedroom with its four poster bed. After a day exploring, cool off in the turquoise pool, doze in the hammock in the lush garden or, as the sun sets, take the spiral staircase to the roof terrace with a glass of wine.

Each room has been thoughtfully decorated with handcrafted local furniture and lighting.

MASTER BEDROOM: Overlooking the pool and featuring a stunning four poster bed, walk-in closet, spacious ensuite with shower and his and hers basins, and a separate adjoined area housing a lavish free-standing bathtub surrounded by tropical plants for a truly spa-like experience. Crisp cotton sheets, white fluffy towels and locally made, organic, eco-friendly toiletries are provided as standard. Air conditioning unit and ceiling fan.

LIVING ROOM: Relax, put your feet up in your home from home and catch up with your favourite series on the 70-inch flat panel television with active Netflix account, Amazon Prime and YouTube. Air conditioning unit and ceiling fan.

KITCHEN: Try your hand at recreating some Mexican delicacies (check out the pink cookbook for inspiration) in the fully equipped modern kitchen, including a coffee maker and complimentary coffee beans, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and sizeable American fridge freezer in which you'll be left four complimentary bottles of Mexican beer to welcome you to The Horseshoe Merida. Pick up some freshly made Maiz tortillas from the local market a few blocks away and some Oaxacan cheese and provecho! (enjoy) A full range of cookware, cutlery, glass and china is also provided. Filtered water and ice. Air conditioning unit and ceiling fan. Alexa speaker, video doorbell.

BEDROOM TWO: Set within the main historic part of the house, with its very own independent sitting area, workdesk, and bathroom, the second bedroom offers a beautiful and generous space to make your stay special. Local, organic, eco-friendly toiletries provided. Air conditioning unit and ceiling fan.

OUTDOOR TERRACE: Take in morning views of the six metre long pool and tropical garden on the outdoor seating area or dine under the beautiful antique French tiled roof. Outdoor table seats six. Charcoal BBQ and utensils. Ceiling fan.

LAUNDRY ROOM: Equipped with a washing machine and seperate dryer, iron and ironing board.

HIGH SPEED INTERNET: Featured throughout the house and garden, perfect for guests who need to work remotely... and from a sun lounger!

FAMILY FRIENDLY: And for our tiniest guests, there is also a BABY COT and HIGH CHAIR available. Plus a MICROWAVE, to make heating baby bottles in the middle of the night and leftovers easier.

The whole house is offered for rent so you can enjoy total privacy and comfort and the main entrance is equipped with an electronic lock so you don't even need a key!

Check-in is available from 3 pm although if the house is vacant we may be able to be flexible and accommodate early check-ins. Please ask prior to your visit.

The electronic lock allows for self-service check-ins for very late arrivals although we will always do our best to meet and greet all of our guests.

The Horseshoe is fitted with eight solar panels, however it is kindly requested that all Aircon and fans are turned off when you leave the house. Yucatan is one of the states with the highest electricity costs in all of Mexico and in the interest of everyone trying to do their bit for the planet, your understanding is greatly appreciated!
