This was a perfect hotel for our first trip to Mexico City. It was conveniently located within walking distance to many sites and attractions. The hotel is very charming old Mexico, however, much of the furniture needs to be replaced as it is worn and very dated. We had a Jr. Suite in the middle of the hotel and the room was very quiet. Bed was very comfortable except for the carved wooden headboard. The in-house restaurant, Buenos Dios, was a great spot to start our day.

I was pleased with my stay at the Geneve Hotel. The room was conveniently near the stairwell for easy access to the lobby and was kept clean daily. The staff were very friendly, especially the concierge team. I would stay again if given a more spacious room with better lightly.

Great location, beautiful lobby, run down rooms

The good - Great location. Near Insurgentes metro station. A very short walk to beautiful Roma neighborhood. Hotel surrounded by plenty of stores, shops, bars and restaurants. Lobby is gorgeous with lots of historical memorabilia. Staff we dealt with were all kind and helpful. The bad - Unlike the lobby the rooms are getting shabby. Our first room had no outside windows (so was very quiet ) and felt like a room for staff. Our second room had a window which felt like it was open as you could hear everything outside. It also had an adjoining room door and you could hear the other guests like they were in the same room. The a/c unit was loud enough to drown them out at night. Our room also didn’t have pillow covers when we first arrived. And the shower didn’t drain well. Overall an impressive hotel in the lobby but disappointing in the room.

Bad experience and burned phone portal

On the first night when I was about to go to sleep, I plugged in my iPhone with my regular charger to the wall. My phone in the morning was no longer charging, and there was some sort of electrical circuit issue. I brought it up to the employee at 7 AM, and he was very dismissive. Then I had to figure out my life and find where I could find the nearest iPhone store, to which I ended up paying $130 in US currency. I later on and brought it up to the hotel, that they had some sort of electrical issue and that it needed to be addressed. I feel I should have at least been refunded $100 for this huge inconvenience, and the fact that an iPhone costs $1000 in America. I will now have to buy a whole new phone when I return. Also, the hotel itself could use a lot of improvements because it does have the bones for a better looking hotel. The bathroom was disgusting.

Beautiful hotel with amazing resturant, room service, bar, in very central area well-serviced by Uber, and also a walkable area. Central to most tourist areas. Short walk to Roma Norte.

It's a nice property, very unique. Staff were very nice to me. Only one issue that I think it's very important, I was given a room with an attached door to another room and that is NOT secure, no lock in that door.

Terrible service they did not allow for early check-in. They did not allow for late check out. They did not allow room upgrade. I arrived early morning and they did not allow me to check-in until exactly check-in time 3pm. I requested a room upgrade with Expedia VIP and was denied. I requested Late Check out and was denied. Will not stay at the property again, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Not good for couples break.

Hotel itself was ok but the noise from the neighborhood nightclubs was annoying as was the general drunkenness of people in the neighborhood. We had one night when room service called us at 1.30AM to pick up a tray and woke us and we had drunken people trying to get into our room. We should have known the area better before booking. I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re planning to be part of the party scene.
