Lamartine Polanco Penthouse | Private Terrace
Summary:
Welcome to Lamartine.
Tucked behind a quiet facade on one of Polancoâs most iconic streets, Lamartine is a discreet retreat for those who prefer their luxury understated. Just steps from the cityâs best restaurants, galleries, and boutiques, itâs a place you might miss if youâre not lookingâbut once inside, you wonât want to leave.
The Space:
With only a handful of thoughtfully designed suites, Lamartine offers a calm, deeply personal experience. Interiors are warm and refinedâcustom furnishings, artisanal details, soft textures, and a muted palette that mirrors the elegance of its surroundings. At Lamartine, the atmosphere is quiet and nothing is ever rushed. Itâs not about being seenâitâs about feeling at home, in the most refined corner of the city.
Guest Access:
Here, youâll find:
âą A rooftop terrace where mornings are slow and sunsets linger
âą Wellness treatments that come to you, whenever you need them
âą A simple breakfast made with care, featuring fresh local ingredients
âą A fitness corner and lounge for focused work or relaxed conversation
âą A concierge who sees what you need before you ask
The Neighborhood:
Polanco is Mexico Cityâs most prestigious and cosmopolitan neighborhoodâoften likened to New Yorkâs Upper East Side or Parisâ 16th arrondissement. Renowned for its elegant architecture, tree-lined avenues, cultural institutions, and vibrant culinary scene, it offers an unmatched combination of style, sophistication, and accessibility.
Staying at Lamartine Hotel Boutique places you directly on Avenida Masaryk, Latin Americaâs most exclusive shopping boulevardâhome to iconic brands like Chanel, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Rolex.
From your doorstep, youâre just a short walk from:
âą Antara Fashion Hall and El Palacio de Hierro Polanco, two of the cityâs top luxury retail destinations
âą Museo Soumaya, Museo Jumex, and the Acuario Inbursa, showcasing art, design, and family-friendly attractions
âą Parque Lincoln, one of Polancoâs most beloved green spacesâperfect for morning jogs, weekend strolls, or quiet people-watching
âą Acclaimed restaurants such as Pujol, Quintonil, Cipriani, Emilio, and Masa
âą A wide variety of stylish cocktail bars, wine lounges, and rooftopsâideal for evenings out
Polanco is also conveniently located near Mexico Cityâs major business hubs, including Reforma, Lomas, and Santa Fe, making it a strategic base for both leisure and corporate travelers.
Whether youâre here for gastronomy, culture, shopping, or work, Lamartine offers front-row access to everything that makes Polanco one of the worldâs most desirable urban destinations.
Getting Around:
Getting Around Mexico City
The best way to get around Mexico City is via Uber or taxi. Taxis are slightly more expensive, but they are a hassle-free means of getting around. Uber is a safe and more affordable way to navigate the city. You can drive yourself but be aware there is a lot of traffic and you need to be patient. For luxury travelers, Mexico City offers a range of comfortable, safe, and stylish ways to explore its vibrant neighborhoodsâand staying at Lamartine Hotel Boutique in Polanco means youâre already in one of the cityâs most walkable and elegant areas.
Walking in Polanco
Polanco is made for walking. With its tree-lined avenues, designer boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and world-class restaurants all within a few blocks, many guests find that the best way to experience the neighborhood is simply on foot. Parque Lincoln, Avenida Masaryk, and countless charming corners are just steps away from Lamartine.
Private Car, Taxi, or Uber
For venturing beyond Polanco, we recommend Uber Black or booking a private driver for comfort, reliability, and peace of mind.
âą Uber is widely available, secure, and offers a seamless app-based experience.
âą Taxis de sitio (official taxis) can be arranged by our concierge or found at marked stands throughout the city. Avoid flagging taxis on the street for safety.
Weâre happy to arrange private transportation or bilingual drivers for shopping, meetings, or excursions.
Metro & MetrobĂșs
While the Metro and MetrobĂșs systems are efficient and extremely affordable, they tend to be overcrowdedâespecially during peak hoursâand are best suited for the more adventurous traveler.
âą If you choose to ride the Metro, travel light, avoid rush hours, and be mindful of your belongings.
âą MetrobĂșs requires a rechargeable card and runs along major avenues like Insurgentes.
Tourist Bus (TuribĂșs)
The TuribĂșs is a popular option for seeing the cityâs landmarks in comfort. This double-decker sightseeing bus offers narrated tours (in 8 languages) with hop-on, hop-off service at iconic stops across the city. Itâs ideal for a relaxed overview of Mexico Cityâs historic and cultural highlights. Service runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Driving Yourself
We do not recommend driving unless absolutely necessary. Traffic is dense, parking is limited, and local driving customs can be unpredictable. If you choose to rent a car, major agencies operate at the airport and in select city locations. For stress-free travel, we recommend private transport over self-driving.
Taxi or Uber
Phone ahead for a âtaxi de sitioâ (safe taxi) to ensure that you get official and safe transportation around the city. Most hotels and restaurants are happy to call one of the official cars for you, or you could wait at the ""Sitio"" signs and stands located around town. Flagging one down on the street could leave you in the potentially precarious situation of hopping in the back of an unofficial taxi and a driver with maybe questionable intentions. Additionally, Uber operates in Mexico City and is an affordable and safe way to navigate the metropolis.
Metro
The metro is cheap, but you should keep in mind a few tips. One, the first two cars of each train are for women and children only. Two, you should only carry small bags â large bags mark you as a tourist, and suitcases are not permitted at all. Three, the metro is very crowded during the morning and evening rush hours, and that's also when it's more prone to pickpockets. Tickets cost 5 pesos, or a little more than $0.25.
MetrobĂșs
Like the subway, Mexico City's MetrobĂșs is a cheap, efficient and super-crowded way to move around town. These red and white buses move (quickly) in dedicated lanes along the Avenida de los Insurgentes and other routes. To ride you'll need to purchase a smartcard (available at vending machines in the Metro stations); the card will cost 16 pesos (or about $0.84) and rides cost 6 pesos one way (about $0.31).
Tourist Bus
The red double-decker Turibus provides commentary (available in eight languages) on various popular sights and routes throughout the city. Tours usually last around three hours with approximately 20 stops along the way. For those looking to pack in lots of sightseeing in one day, it's an affordable option (costing about $8 for adults). It runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Car
The streets are congested, the routes are baffling, parking is scarce and expensive, plus the rules of the road are hard to understand (particularly since drivers rarely follow them). In some areas, there's also a danger of auto theft. If you do decide to drive, several car rental companies operate out of the Mexico City airport and in several parts of the city.
Other Things to Note:
The assigned unit may have some differences in views or decor compared to the photos, as the listing represents the entire category of apartments, not a specific unit. Rest assured, all our units come equipped with the same high-quality amenities and services to ensure your comfort.
You will be in one of the biggest cities in the world, it can get hectic and messy. We do our best to provide a calm and peaceful stay, however, please consider there may be noise coming from outside.
Interaction with Guests:
The Lamartine team will always be on the lookout for you and for any doubts you have before, during and after your stay. We will be available for you by phone or message, as well as our security team that are available 24/7.
We offer additional services like personal chef, transportation, daily housekeeping, and barbecue, please inquire when you book your stay and we'll be happy to arrange them for you.
