Wonderful place right on the lake

Peaceful, clean home on the lake. We went for thanksgiving and the kitchen was so well stocked, I could make a holiday meal here! We loved the place and will likely be back.

Great time and location

Loved the house and set up. Lots of space. My wife and I and our five adult kids all stayed and we had plenty of room. Great screened in porch area and beautiful view of Lake Kai. Highly recommend.

Great location right off the pond and close to the pool and park and lake too. The house did have enough towels and basic things like Toilet paper and soap, and they supplied beach chairs and a wagon. We loved it!

The location of the house is great. Close to pool, park, and fishing pier. Beachwalk is a great resort community overall. Rustic but charming. We stayed at the end of a busy summer so expected some wear and tear. Beds were comfy, the screen porch lovely right on Lake Kai. That being said the carpet smelled, pet hair on sofa and the kitchen didn’t have enough items to make a meal, just the bare minimum. (Pots,pan, utensils, mixing bowls- looked like they were picked from a garage sale)

Nice view from screen porch and quick access to clubhouse. Size of the beach and qualty of sand at Lake Michigan access down street exceeded expectations. The two concerns we had was that the upstairs temperature vs the downstairs temperature was night and day. The people sleeping downstairs were freezing, while the people upstairs were sweating. It was right on the lake which provided a great view and was very close to the pool/lake activities/park/Lake Michigan. The house was a good size and layout for our 2 families which included 4 adults and 3 kids under 3. The outside could definitely use some upkeep but the inside was well maintained. The house also included chairs and umbrellas that we brought to Lake Michigan. We would definitely stay here again!

My only suggestion would be that there is some ants in the kitchen that you may want to spray and it would be nice if the screened in patio was cleaned a bit. There is a lot of stuff on the screens that make it hard to see out. Plus there is just a lot of cobwebs everywhere.

Graduation Getaway

We stayed with another family to celebrate a HS graduation. Was a really fun community with a lot of great activities! The house was really nice and perfect for two small families! The property managers were awesome! The house had a MAJOR plumbing issue upon arrival. Turns out that tree roots drilled through and clogged the main sewage line out to the street. This is entirely NOT the fault of the manager/owner, still they had an emergency plumber arrive within an hour on a Friday night to clean the line out. As they say, $h!t happens, LOL, but the property managers were rockstars about it!

But inside, the house was very nice, clean with a Lot of Room. Kitchen and dining area and living room is huge. Kitchen had everything you needed , and they do have a keurig. The Wine refrigerator stored all our drinks. They had a lot of amenities not listed from fishing rods, a wagon, chairs, and a fire pit. There is a nice screened in porch. Michicgan Lake is quite a walk, glad we rented a golf cart. We reserved it the next year on the way out.

In my opinion, the best location in Beachwalk--right on Lake Kai, steps from the fishing/swimming dock, 5-6 houses down from the pool and Beach Hut, and 10 minutes with wagon to Lake Michigan. Beds are comfortable. One upstairs bedroom gets a little cold with A/C but that's a negative you can look past!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 4th Beachwalk Vacation, first time at Steel Away. It is a lovely property, the best location we've ever had, right on the boardwalk to get to Lake Kai rentals, the pool, the tennis court, etc. (The upstairs bedrooms were a bit challenging for 2 families of 4, since there was one room for two people, and two rooms for 3 people each, but we made it work.) Our only real issue was with the plumbing, and the management handled it well, sending someone to check on it right away, and then calling in the professionals when they discovered the severity of the problem. Resolved! Most of all, we appreciated having an option for a 1⁄2 week stay during a summer too heavily booked to get everyone together for a full week.

Amazing Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was one of the best stays I've had at a vacation rental. The place was amazing. Clean, comfortable, easy in, and easy out. The staff was super hospitabale.The house backs right into the dock. It's probably the best location in resort, near all the amenities.If I could give the whole stay (house + resort) 10 starts out of 5, I would. We'll definitely be back!
