Welcome to the Beachcomber! Beautiful home in Cottage Retreat - steps to beach!

WELCOME to the 'Beachcomber' ! This lovely 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Beach Retreat Cottage is ideal for one large family or two families that wish to share the cost. There are two master suites and each one has its own bathroom so that everyone can enjoy comfort and privacy. The house is just across the beach road to the sugar white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. Just a short 1 - 2 minute stroll is one of the prettiest stretches of white sand beaches along the Gulf Coast. This home accommodates 10 comfortably - two king, one queen, two twins and a queen size sofa sleeper. Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Each bedroom has its own TV. The kitchen, dining room and family room are open, which is great for gathering without feeling crowded. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances and all your cooking and serving needs. The family room is very comfortable with a large TV, CD, and VHS/DVD player. Also, the house has free Internet service . There is parking for 2 cars.


What to do besides enjoy our wonderful beach...: Should you wish to explore what the local area has to offer, you'll find an abundance of choices. Sidewalks line scenic 98 for walking, running or bike riding. We are a short 2 mile drive to the Silver Sands mall to the West, or luxury shopping at Destin Commons to the East. Kenny D's, The Crab Trap, and Pompano Joe's are all within walking distance to the Beach Retreat Cottages. We encourage you to leave menus of your favorite restaurants when you come. For evening entertainment, Destin is known for some wonderfully upscale eateries, as well as your regular fare, friendly night life and nearby state of the art movie theater. The Silver Sands Outlet Mall is a vacation in it’s own right for shoppers you will have access to over 100 stores, including, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, Lenox, Nike and Reebok - just to name a few. When you need to pause for nourishment choose from Panera Bread, Cheeseburger in Paradise

More great shopping is to be found at.....: Destin Commons outdoor mall. Enjoy such great stores as Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Belk, Books-A-Million & Maui Nix Surf Shop to rattle off a few. Stop for a bite to eat at the Hard Rock CafĂ©, Panera Bread, Tony’s Ristorante or Sushi Siam. More than just shopping the Destin Commons Center Plaza offers a soft-play kids playground and a 49-head pop fountain. Community activities and entertainment are held through the year at Destin Commons . Rave Motion Pictures is also housed at Destin Commons to catch the latest releases. Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resorts offers wonderful dining and specialty stores as well as great festivals & events that are held at the Market Shops Green or the Center Plaza within the Village.

Amazing Beach Stay

Our family of nine (5 adults & 4 children aged 2 - 7) had a wonderful stay at the Beachcomber. The home had a very inviting, updated decor, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen with many extras including a crock pot & blender. Other unexpected extras - a stepstool for the little ones to reach the sink, an iron & board, laundry baskets and a powerful dust buster! Our group liked the upside-down layout with the bedrooms on the first floor. They enjoyed being able to enter home & leave items in the hallway next to their rooms. The proximity to the pool and beach was amazing & made our stay at the Beachcomber perfect - We loved our stay here & can't wait to come back! Additionally, Kathy & crew were impressive with their quick responses both before our stay and during. Thanks, Kathy!

Updates Needed

Updated decor, paint and furniture is needed at this property to justify the price we paid. Master bedroom was very nice but all other rooms are outdated. Additional seating in the family room would be helpful. Kathy, the property manager gets a 5 star rating for her customer service!

Good ForThe Price

Pros: Very spacious, clean, two masters, many bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, extremely close to private beach, nice large pool area, walking distance to restaurants, easy to find, very well kept area, gated, great area for kids to play/ride bikes, chair rentals available Cons: A little dated, the queen bed seems to be a full, the air conditioning wouldn’t go below 74 and got up to 81 during the day even with it set at 65, we found extra air filters and so changed the existing one - which was disgusting, there is a rotten/soft area on the balcony and loose railings, the balcony door does not shut well, kitchen and living room are upstairs, the cold knob on the faucet on the tub in the upstairs master leaks, bedroom TVs are very outdated, the only grill is by the pool and charcoal, all bathroom outlets are tied to the same breaker so if more than one person is using something like a hairdryer it will trip and there is no way to rest because the box is unacceptable.

FANTASTIC!!!

What a wonderful week we had at the Beachcomber Cottage!!! This VRBO has EVERYTHING anyone could need for their stay. The most comfortable beds ever. Even the twin size beds. My family was amazed as they always are wary of sleeping in beds outside their homes. All of us were pleasantly surprised and slept so well. Pillows were amazing as well. Perfect size for our big family. Just wish the pool had been a bit warmer but we were here just as the nights started getting cooler so probably not heated yet. Hot tub was nice and hot though!!! Will stay here again if we come this way again! Thanks Kathy!!!

We had a great time! The house was clean and very close to the beach. You share a pool with the condos that are right on the beach in front of the houses. About a 3 minute walk to the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed. We will be back!

Nice rental

We loved the location and neighborhood. The house is nicely furnished and beds are comfortable. Be aware that the living room, kitchen and master bedroom are upstairs. The stairs might be a problem for the elderly or those with young children. Bring your own baby gate! Overall it was a great rental for us.

Excellent property at a great location

We had a great vacation last week at the property. We had kids from ages 3 to 16 and 4 adults in our group. This house everything you would need in a vacation home. Location is great. Just 3 minutes walk away from the beach with a private access. I would book tis place again if I need to. Really great as with Covid-19 going rampant in the USA.. we felt very secluded but very close to beach.

Great experience!

Kathy was very easy to communicate with. Condo was clean and had plenty of space for our large family. Short walk to a beautiful beach. Community is small and was uncrowded during our stay. You will need to bring your own beach chairs or rent on the beach. We would stay here again!

My husband and I took our 4 daughters as well as our oldest daughter's boyfriend, another daughter's friend, and our nephew. There were 9 of us total and plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and comfortable. The location is great. We have been to Destin 3 times and have stayed in this same neighborhood every time. Quiet neighborhood with the pool and beach close. It was a very relaxing time.

CANNOT GO WRONG

This place was amazing. Tons of room, beautifully decorated, such a convenient location, everything we wanted at a great cost. The kitchen and living room were upstairs which at first was not the most desirable, but now we don't want it any other way! We hung out on the balcony with a fantastic breeze all day and night. Kathy helped us so much with our parking situation and promptly answered a couple questions we had while we were there. Five stars. Loved it. Will absolutely return.

Home Away from Home

The location of this beautiful house is on a small crescent in a gated community which lends itself to a required sense of security. All amenities are at your finger tips...large heated pool, small, but well equipped gym, and the beach a three minute walk away. What more could one want? Well if you might have any problems all you have to do is call KastleKeepers and Kathy or Mike will assist you immediately and with a smile! All this to say that I have been coming to Miramar Beach/ Cottage Row for seven years and I cannot imagine going anywhere else!
