Heritage Stone House on the Rideau Canal

La deuxiĂšme chambre peut ĂȘtre convertie en espace ouvert ou en deuxiĂšme salon pour accueillir de plus grands rassemblements et Ă©vĂ©nements. Le deuxiĂšme Ă©tage comprend trois chambres Ă  coucher, une salle de bain complĂšte, un coin lecture, une salle de lavage et un accĂšs Ă  la grande terrasse du deuxiĂšme Ă©tage.

Toute la maison et la propriété de 4 acres vous appartiennent. Il n'y a pas de voisins et L'accÚs au canal Rideau se trouve à quelques pas par un sentier menant aux écluses Clowes. Notre ferme, Heritage Stables, est à seulement 3 minutes à pied.

We chose Heritage House for our intimate wedding, and it exceeded all expectations. The historic stone house felt warm and welcoming—full of Victorian charm, but with modern comforts like a remodeled kitchen, updated bathrooms, and a TV room with gorgeous views of the Rideau Canal. Everything was spotless when we arrived, with well-appointed bedrooms and kitchen. The listing matched reality.The house was remarkably spacious, easily accommodating our group and 50 guests for the ceremony and reception. Guests enjoyed relaxing, playing games, dancing, and soaking in the wide-open views—we never felt crowded. Outdoor spaces were a highlight: decks overlooking the canal, an intimate upstairs seating area with a gazebo and firepit, a wood-heated sauna, cold plunge bath, and a dock perfect for kayaking or enjoying the scenery. The proximity to the Clowes locks and charming Merrickville offered extra activities, quaint restaurants, and beautiful sights for everyone.We loved having the flexibility to decorate, and Jake’s communication was excellent—any questions were resolved quickly. Check-in/out and parking were simple. The setting, amenities, and Jake’s helpfulness made our weekend truly special. Our guests raved about the setting and house, calling it a hidden gem. We highly recommend Heritage House for gatherings. Thank you, Jake!

Fantastic Return Visit

Perfect for our family vacation

We were looking for a place to stay for a long weekend with family, and this was better than any we found from the listing alone. Upon arrival the building itself was an amazing piece of history, and despite being 200 years old it was the cleanest and best equipped vrbo we've stayed at. Everything you could need for an amazing vacation, from the kitchen to the dock, was here. Thanks to the owner Jake for the stay, we will definitely be coming back.

location lived up to its billing.Lovely quiet evenings on the deck with a fire overlooking the river.Everything you need is there BBQ, linen etc just great.Location central to Ottawa,Brockville and Smiths Falls.Grandkids loved afternoon visit to Sawyer Critter Farm great spot to spend an afternoon.Hostess was excellent and met all our needs.Great place just to get away!!!

Amazing getaway!

We had a group of 11 of us looking for a place to stay close to Ottawa to celebrate a family birthday. The beautiful Christmas decorations, the charm of this heritage house combined with modern renovations made this a perfect place for our family get together. The home came equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. This is our favorite VRBO that we have stayed in by far! A beautiful location and close enough to Ottawa and the surrounding communities. The owners were able to answer any questions that we may have immediately. Wonderful stay in historic home

Happy with our choice of summer vacation this year. This home had a perfect blend of old world charm and modern amenities. It was clean and welcoming with everything we needed to have a relaxing stay in this part of Ontario The hosts touched base through the week by Vrbo chat to give us opportunity to ask any questions and ensure we had what we needed. The location was a good home base for us. Quiet while we were at home and close to many local towns and Ottawa for daily ventures out of the house. We appreciated very much that we could bring our pets. Thank you so much for sharing this home with us.you can see the love and care put into the restoration and modifications put into it.

This house surpassed our expectations. The location was perfect to visit with family in Andrewsville, and for trips to the lovely town of Merrickville. The interior of this house works perfectly, blending 200 year old charm with the modern amenities of 2024. Well done! The site by the scenic river is beautiful with a short walk to the historic Clowes locks where we went for walks and kayaking. We recommend this jewel of a place to friends and family and special mention to the hosts for a beautiful, well-stocked home for all to enjoy and create happy memories!

FANTASTIC!!

I cannot say enough great things about our stay. Jake was fantastic as a property manager. He was super helpful, easy to get hold of and very accommodating. The house is absolutely gorgeous. The property is stunning. I have never been to a rental that was so well stocked. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We hosted my sons wedding here. It was the perfect setting. Lots of room to set up for our guests. We set up lawn games as well. Jake and Katy also have a horse farm down the road and we were able to take our grandchildren horseback riding for the very first time. It was fabulous!! I would truly like to thank Jake and Katy for a terrific stay.

Great Family/Group Vacation Home

Three generations of our family stayed here for just over a week, visiting the area for a family wedding. Grandparents, two pairs of parents, and six grandchildren (aged 3 -11), we all enjoyed our time here. Location is great, right by the Rideau River, with a natural boundary of grasses and reeds. The kids loved running around the property, building forts in the adjoining riverside woods, and playing with badminton rackets and bocce with the adults. The house itself has all mod cons, with traditional/vintage furniture throughout. It does not feel "precious", so we easily relaxed, particularly in the welcoming river-view sunroom. The kitchen is spacious and modern, easy to work in, and well supplied with utensils. I messaged Jake a few times, and he quickly responded to my questions. He was friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this place and would happily stay here again!

Beautiful and family friendly

We really enjoyed our stay! Gorgeous old house with so much original character. Lots for kids to do right out the back door. We also took advantage of the horseback riding offered by the host just down the road - the kids loved it. :) Well supplied with enough of everything (bedding, chairs, hot water, etc) for our group of 9.
