This is actually a review for the Hotel de Bouilhac, because they were undergoing some refurbishments, so they upgraded us from the *** Relais de Montignac to the **** Hotel de Bouilhac!
It was a 17th-century mansion of the personal physician to Louis XV - so historic and elegant, we were really sorry that we were only there for one night.
Our ceiling was so high and we loved the verdant view from our windows.
There was an historic fireplace that lent so much charm to the room. There were classic water bottles filled with sparkling and still water with refined crystal stemare and a nice selection of teas.
The bathroom was large and modernized, but kept the historic floors.
Loik was an amazing hotelier - so solicitous and helpful. We arrived too late for their restaurant, but as a Breton himself, he happily recommended the nearby Le Triskell, where we enjoyed wonderful crepes.
The breakfast was fantastic, with oranges squeezed right before your eyes and a great selection of local jams.
