Band playing in hotel kept us awake until 1am

Pity we had not been told when we booked that there would be a band playing extremely loudly until 1am. Could hear every bass, drum, song lyric until the early hours. Fine for those attending the dance, but not for the rest of us. Won't be going back.

Early morning departures....

This is the property located adjacent to the Edinburgh airport. Great property, wonderful people, clean modern rooms, and a bus shuttle to the departure gates make it the perfect choice for those early morning departures.

Another enjoyable stay

Second time at this hotel recently. Clean, comfortable and friendly service. Only slight downside is buffet breakfast being kept hot under heating lamps as the food always tends to dry out. My preference would be for a cooked to order breakfast.

Wedding Reception

We stayed here as our friend was holding her Wedding Reception at the hotel. All the staff were very friendly & our room was spacious & clean. Breakfast finished a bit early at 9.30 but there was a varied choice of foods to suit all taste. Car parking was free for residents. Would definitely recommend if ever staying in Montrose.

good hotel. i checked in early as well but there is event going on so i took the last car space. other wise the bed is ace and had good sleep.

Good location

This was the third time we stayed at the hotel. We had a superior room that really didn't match its description. The jacuzzi bath had a large hole in the front panel and the shower was scalding hot. At breakfast on the first morning we had to wait a long time for the hot buffet to be restocked. On the second morning there was no where to sit and the staff were very dismissive even stating that "breakfast service had started at 8 o'clock." There was no apology and the staff, we felt were rude.

A game of two halves really. Hotel very nice, clean, welcoming and the rooms were spot on. Arrived Friday with a group of 15 gents for a golf weekend to fine they had run out of draught tennents and Coors. Very little choice left after that. Staff on Friday night (in particular the bar staff and night porter) were brilliant. Really great service both from them and at breakfast on Saturday morning. Really good experience ( apart from running out of lager!). Night porter on Saturday night was perhaps the grumpiest most awkward chap we have ever come across. Same for the staff at breakfast- total lack of enthusiasm, not overly polite and clearly didn't really want to be there. However, minor points, we were there to play golf and the hotel and majority of staff were great. Just a weird mix! Would stay again though, without hesitation.

Revisit 49 years on

Pleasantly surprised at the improvement to the rooms which are amply sized with fresh modern bathrooms. We also eat in the hotel and enjoyed the food. We held our wedding reception in the dining room 49 years ago.

Great value for money, nice place to eat.

The hotel was clean and tidy with really friendly staff. The food was really tasty, some of the starters were big enough to be main courses. Great value for money. It is a short walk from the high street. I would definitely stay hear again.
