I really liked the staaf, they were very helpfull and friendly. The room was basic but nice and clean. The area around the hostel felt really poor and insafe at night, so we stayed in the hostel during that time of the day.

Mitten in Afrika

The BackPackShack sind eigentlich einige Backpacker-Zimmer in einem Hotel. Die Zimmer sind einfach und im Stil der Townships gehalten, d.h. einfach und sauber, aber auch etwas bedrückend. Wir wurden jedoch nach 1 Nacht upgegradet auf ein Hotelzimmer, welches hervorragend war. Das Personal ist mehr als freundlich und hilfsbereit, Blommie, die Köchin erfüllt jeden Wunsch, wenn er ihr möglich ist. Man lebt Mitten in einem afrikanischen Vorort und kann so einen Eindruck vom echten Leben erhalten, dennoch ist man im Hotel absolut sicher. Von einem Spaziergang riet uns das Personal aber sehr klar und eindringlich ab!

Very difficult to find (there are no signs to the Backpack Shack, its actually inside a hotel with another name), but great staff, a cool room and good breakfast made the stay in Mossel Bay a good experience.
