Mykonos Ideal Summer House

Close to the beach, this two bedroom two bathroom traditional Mykonian style house, is ideal for families with children. The house is located on the ground floor with a private garden and access to an Olympic sized swimming pool. It is fully equipped with all necessary amenities and has free Wi-Fi. Every room is cooled or heated with separate a/c.
The house offers two bedrooms. The first one with a queen size bed, full closet, vanity mirror and a bathroom next to it. The second one with a queen size bed with overhead bunk for a third person and an ensuite bathroom.
The living room contains two sofas, the one can be converted into a double bed. There is also a TV set and a portable CD player.
Open plan kitchen is fully equipped with ceramic stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and a separate freezer, toaster, nespresso machine, express boiler, all necessary pans and kettles. There is also a washing machine available.
Front porch, with garden and swimming pool view, offers a build in sofa in one corner that can seat five persons with extra chairs. Next to it is the open air dinning area.
Common swimming pool is right in front of the house with two deck chairs available in the house.
The house is situated between two beaches. Ornos beach is 400 m away and Korfos beach is about 150 m, both within walking distance. Ornos beach is family friendly, with many restaurants ranging from high end sushi to local souvlaki shop, organized with umbrellas and deck chairs, family sports and water taxis that can take you to most of the other beaches of the island of Mykonos. Korfos is a sport oriented beach where the local kite surf and windsurf clubs reside. Next to the house is the local stadium that you could use for your daily jog.
There are several supermarkets, bakeries and shops plus a pharmacy within a 5-minute walking distance. There are also car and moto rentals hair dressers, restaurants, bars, liquor store.
From Ornos you can easily explore the rest of the island.
There is a bus stop 3-minute walk from the house to get to the city of Mykonos or to Agios Ioannis Beach. City of Mykonos is 2.5 km away and the airport is just a 10-minute drive. The Port of Mykonos is 6.5 km away.

Ornos Paradise

We loved our stay in Ornos. Beautiful house in a quiet complex, the host was wonderful, everything you need. Close to beach, restaurants and the best bakery. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!

Fantastic property, location & pool!

We loved our stay at Dimitris’ property in Ornos. It was a perfect size for my family (2 adults, 2 kids) with all the necessary amenities, including the amazing pool. It’s also just 10 mins walk to Ornos beach, 7 mins drive from the airport and 10 mins drive to Mykonos Town. The only negative is that we had to leave!

Great spot in a great location!

Dimitri's place is perfect! The location lends itself to easy walks to the beach, restaurants, shops, groceries, etc. Dimitri was very responsive and easy to communicate with. His help with setting up transportation was also amazing. The house is very comfortable with great spots outside to relax. The pool is a huge bonus! I would highly recommended any group staying here.

Convenient Location

Dimitri’s condo was clean and comfortable - nice beds and towels. Just a short walk to shopping and restaurants. We had everything we needed for our start, and Dmitri was quick to respond. The pool area was very nice. One note: be aware does lock from the inside, so make sure you take keys with you when you go out! 🙂 Would stay here again.

Walkable and inviting

Lovely setting with bougainvillea and flowers against white walls and blue shutters -- exactly what you may imagine of Greece. Only challenge is that home has no number on it..would be helpful if there was a designated number or image. Otherwise really wonderful and walkable to beaches, great restaurants and shopping.

Lovely accommodation, great location

Lovely accommodation in a really good area. 5 mins walk from Ornos beach which is stunning. Lots of restaurants on the beach. Very comfortable beach loungers, but they do vary in price from €40 to €80 per day. Only down side to accommodation the mattress in main bedroom was uncomfortable. Also the wet room bathroom did not drain away so floor was always wet in the bathroom. Everything else was fab. We had a brilliant taxi driver Panda who collected us from the airport and did most of our journeys when we went into Mykonos town. Would definitely return.

Disappointed by Owner

The apartment itself was fine. Nice complex with a good Greek feeling. The good feelings stop there. It is a scary walk to the attractions in Ornos. Dodging dangerous traffic and walking past garbage piles. I wish you could see my email chain with the owner. A promised amenity was not available after it had been promised to us. No effort was made to solve the problem. I received an apology and a promise for a credit. Then he disappeared. I put in a claim with VRBO using my email chain as evidence. As of now I have received nothing as promised from an owner that has vanished. My VRBO rating as a customer is flawless. Don’t take a chance, go elsewhere.

Nice place to stay

The residence is nice and presents very well according to the listing (no microwave). The bed is very comfortable and a large livingroom and patio to enjoy with privacy. It is nestled within trees and shrubs which allows you to have a wonderful breeze and privacy at the same time. If you had kids, the second bedroom would be ideal. There are siesta instructions for the common area (pool) which impacts use of the pool in the middle of the afternoon. Minor thing when you are on vacation. Just know, not all units adhere to the requirement. We simply toured the city during that time. The unit is a short walk to restaurants, bakeries, beaches and the store. We rented a quad to get around. I highly recommend it. The streets are very narrow and parking is a challenge. The qual allows much more flexibility. IF you are going to rent scooters, be sure to have a scooter/motorcycle license, for they will not rent one without a proper license. The best part of this residence is that it is away from the main area of Mykonos. There are a lot of people in Mykonos, residents, visitors and cruiseship-goers. The city gets very conjested during the day and evening. It was great to visit then back to the quiet area to sleep and enjoy the food.

Great family stay with 7 and 9 year old

Dimitris was very responsive to our queries both before and during the stay. Everything on the listing was as described. Comfortable 2 bed, 2 bathroom property with well equipped kitchen, outdoor seating and dining. We used the large salt water pool several times a day as did other families and groups in the surrounding apartments but there was always plenty of space. The power cut out a few times which I am told can be an issue on the island but it was never for long. Conveniently located 5 minute walk to Ornos beach or Korfos where there was a large supermarket and 2 excellent bakeries (plus fishmonger and butcher etc). Plenty of places to eat within walking distance and a good Takeaeay a minute away. Whilst the complex was well maintained (beautiful with all the plants and flowers) my only complaint is that the surrounding streets and Korfos beach were full of rubbish (bins overflowing) and there were many stray cats. I expect the rubbish would be less outside of peak season and infrastructure better able to cope with the influx of tourists.

Property is very well situated with just a short walk to Ornos Beach. Front porch was perfect for lounging after a day out. Two bathrooms were a major bonus as well. Very comfortable and inviting.

Enjoyable

Overall a lovely holiday.Id say it's more for families rather than couples. A few issues with the property, noisy water pipes in particular and not very well sound proofed from the above property.pool area pump quite loud and difficult to relax and read sometimes. The outside communal area, not manned and could do with a tidy up in places and being stop being used as a cut through for dog walkers, which took away from the privacy of the place. Like I said with families you'd hardly notice these small points, but fair to point out to visitors to who want a peacecful stay. Dimitri's was very helpful, but no actual persons on hand, especially to deal with noisy builders opposite through siesta time. Thanks
