Disappointed

This will be the last time for this hotel. We have always stayed at Howard Johnsons but very disappointed this time. When we first arrived the room was very hot and smelled like cigarette smoke in the non Smoking room so we went and bought air fresheners. The ac had a very hard time cooling down the room. The toilet handle had to be held down to flush sometimes and the toilet kept running. The refrigerator froze everything. The mattress felt worn out.The hall way.was very hot and humid even at night. The hotel didn't have any maps of mystic like they used to. They removed the coffee pots they used to have in the room. I use to be able to hold the room with a credit card and pay cash when we checked out but they don't accept cash anymore. I have never left a bad review before this.

Worst. Place. Ever.

Terrible experience across the board. Hotel not even close to as advertised. Filthy, unsafe, no assistance to be found on premise, as a sign was left at front desk to just “check yourself out” if need be. We opened the room door and left immediately after. Will never go back again. Hotels.com shouldn’t even associate their name with this establishment and the hotels.com team has yet to provide any assistance also.

Very dirty. Lack of staff. After being switched rooms right after we checked in the second room was dirty and outdated as well. We ended up getting a refund and switching hotels all together. The website is false advertising.

God awful experience!!!

We checked in at 4 PM by 430 after using the restroom and washing our hands. The sink was clogged. We made them aware immediately we left. We came back by 8 PM. They said it was fixed. It was still not draining properly and there was black crap all over in the sink on the counters on our toothbrushes. It was disgusting. They said it would be fixed first thing in the morning at 9 AM. Are you kidding me from 4 PM on Tuesday till 9 AM on Wednesday. We can’t use our sink in our bathroom to wash our hands then the next morning it still wasn’t fixed. Staff seemed very unconcern about this. The place was dirty. The pool was cloudy at best.

Dated but clean and comfortable, food options close by, we frequented the nearby diner mostly. Enjoyed the private balcony and noise was not bad considering proximity to highway. Anything we needed for room we just asked. Clerk was having technical difficulties when we arrived and could not check us in, but was resolved while we parked and went for a bite to eat. Pool was nice after a hot day. Good central location

Great Location!

The beds and pillows are comfortable. There is ample parking. The people working at the hotel are super friendly. Shahid went above and beyond to correct a few issues I had with the room like a drain stopper and iron. This hotel is in the same parking lot as the Mystic Diner that has a great atmosphere and great food. Across the street is the Old Mystic Village shops which you can walk over to. I was planning to visit other parts of CT, but added an extra day because it was such a nice area.
