We absolutely loved this home and the location was such an added bonus....being right at the boardwalk was amazing... got a chance to meet the owners on the beach.. was awesome to chat about the history of the house... could not ask for better hosts. The beach house had everything we could need and more... and did i mention crows nest deck....the beach view and view of the town was a great hang out spot for morning coffee and a late night cap. We will definitely be renting again.
APPLIANCES NEED ATTENTION DISHWASHER ALMOST TIPPED OVER WHEN LOADED SO WE WERE AFRAID TO USE IT. CAN OPENER WAS BROKEN. CEILING FAN IN LAUNDRY AREA EXTREMELY NOISEY. FURNITURE COULD USE WASHABLE SLIP COVERS. OVERHEAD DECK COULD USE SOME WORK. BEDS WERE VERY COMFORTABLE. Probably would not stay again unless these issues were corrected.
While this house served its purpose of providing a place to lay our heads, the experience was not great. Right when we walked in the door, there was a strong mildew smell. There were no blinds on the two front doors that faced the public beach access for limited privacy especially after dark. The house was located close to beach road and the traffic noise was constant. The house and windows provided no insulation to the noise. Pictures in the listing showed what looked like a bathroom off the main bedroom. In reality it was a closet with a sink in it. The bathroom was located in the kitchen, creating some awkward moments (especially with no blinds on those front doors). Light switches took forever to figure out and lamps were placed unplugged on tables no where near outlets. The house is old and there were unlevel surfaces and awkward separations of living space. Grandparents had a hard time navigating. The dryer did not work and did not get fixed during our stay, which we had planned on having to keep packing light. There was a port-a-potty outside for the public access that was emptied multiple times that week always early in the morning. The good things....The neighborhood and walkability to restaurants, shopping, beach, and activities was great. I would not recommend this house if you're looking for a comfortable house. Everything was off, kitchen cabinets that didn't open and close, random nails throughout, small bathroom off the kitchen, and awkward living layout.
