Seahorse Cottage is a semi-oceanfront, classic, old style South Nags Head beach cottage located less than 30 yards over the dune line on a private access road. Enjoy a 2-minute walk to the beach and ocean views from the front porch, dining room and living areas. Three Bedrooms and 1.5 baths upstairs with a separate detached (not connected from the inside) one-bedroom unit with full kitchen downstairs. THIS LISTING IS THE ENTIRE HOUSE - upstairs three bedrooms, 1.5 baths and downstairs one bedroom, one bath - both with full kitchens and living areas.

The neighborhood is classic old Outer Banks, and the front door is literally just steps from the beach. There are no mini-mansions or hotel size houses here. Enjoy relative peace and quiet year-round. Spend your time relaxing with nature and friends and family. No need to go anywhere once you arrive. However, restaurants, shopping, and activities are in abundance, just a few minutes' drive away. Get the best of both worlds with Cape Hatteras National Seashore immediately to the south (think lighthouses and secluded beaches) and outlet shopping, mini-golf, adventure park, fishing piers, great local seafood and restaurants just a few miles north.

Parking is limited and is allowed in the driveway on property ONLY. Parking on the street is NOT allowed. We allow 3 cars maximum at any given time. DO NOT PARK IN THE ACCESS ROAD OR IN FRONT OF OTHER HOUSES.

We do have a camera on the house that is motion-activated and has a spotlight to monitor parking. The only area that can be seen with the camera is the parking area.

Enjoy complete privacy, but we are available most anytime with just a text or a phone call for recommendations or assistance. Outer Banks residents for over 30 years, we live a few short miles away but will often be there to greet and check you in. Or, check yourself in at any time with a coded key lockbox. Feel free to call or text us anytime for assistance or recommendations!

We provide the first roll of toilet paper and paper towels. Additional paper product needs are guests' responsibility. We supply handsoap but personal toiletries are the guests' responsibility.

Location is everything!

The best location we have ever stayed at! Close enough to shopping areas, but far enough away to enjoy the OBX experience! Very quiet area, private access to beach. Very comfortable, nothing over the top like most places anymore. Reminds me of 30 years ago on the Banks! We will be back!

Independence Day Stay

Wow! What a great property and location. Just over the dune from a sparsely populated beach, the seahorse cottage had everything my family needed. There were plenty of books and toys for our young ones as well. Annette was easily one of the best hosts I have experienced! She was very communicative, cared about our comfort, and provided excellent recommendations for food and things to do around the island. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Annette accommodated us at the very last minute, helping us book a same-day reservation when the weather forced us to change our plans. She was very helpful and timely in communication. The cottage does show its age, but it is well-kept and was very clean. Our 3-year-old was thrilled to discover all the toys and games there.

A Gem in Nags Head

Clean, well furnished and conveniently located. Family enjoyed the views of the ocean from the deck during breakfast, 2 minute walk to our spot on the beach during the day and less than 10 minute walk down the beach to a local restaurant with live music. Games, books and movies were a nice touch for quality family time in the evening. Conveniently located for trips to lighthouses, Roanoke, Wright Brothers museum, etc. Communication with/from the owners was second to none.

The house was well appointed, a short walk to the beach, and had all the amenities required for a fun beach vacation. The lodgings were comfortable and the Internet worked well. There were numerous television choices and lots of books and games. We had a great time.

Just a few steps away from the beach

The best thing about this house was how close it was to the beach. So easy to just grab what you need and head to the beach. It was your standard original OBX beach cottage but had everything you would need. The owners were very communicative. We would recommend to anyone!

Girls’ Weekend at Seahorse Cottage

We had a great time at the Seahorse Cottage. The house was very clean and organized, and a very short trek to the beach. There’s a beautiful view from the porch. And, the kitchen was very well-equipped so we could make dinner every night! Highly recommend!
