For ambitious climbers, the nearby Stetind, Norway's national mountain, is a particular highlight. Lofoten, Vesterålen and other spectacular natural landscapes are also easily accessible by car. In winter, the region transforms into a true winter wonderland. Polar night reigns for three months, and the darkness is only illuminated by the magical Northern Lights or the moonlight.
