I like the furniture and layout. Breakfast location was not walkable. The air condition thermostat was located in a different room where the other tenant set the temperature very cold and made our room freezing cold. We have to wear jackets to stay warm. By closing the vents made it a little warmer but forced air flow was louder and made it hard to sleep.
When you stay at The Pillars, youâre transported to yesteryear, when things were quieter, softer, more genteel than present day. Even the house cats seem relaxed, as they casually study the guests and decide to offer you their welcome. The surroundings, from decor to bed linens are sumptuous, and the overall feeling is one of quiet discovery as you imagine yourself living there in a different century.
We enjoyed the history of the home and the great location. The gardens were beautiful. We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and helpful and accommodating.
While our stay was short, we rested well. The room was comfortable.
My husband and I stayed at the Pillars for 3 nights. It was our first time to visit Natchez and the stay in a historic home was a wonderful part of our experience. The house is convenient to many of the pilgrimage home tours we took and close to other attractions in historic Natchez. We had a great breakfast each morning at the Guest House Inn and Restaurant via a voucher from our hosts. The property was very private and quiet and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept on. Our hosts were very gracious and provided us with everything we needed. We definitely recommend The Pillars for your travel to Natchez.
This home is so beautiful and well-maintained. It was decorated beautifully and their dog and cats are really friendly and help visitors feel like they're at home! Everything was super clean too and the house stays quiet so no one's disturbing you. It's also walking distance to the downtown area and there are shaded sidewalks for most of the walk. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and I can't recommend the city or this house enough for anyone interested in getting away for a little bit!
The bed was comfortable and we left the door open so one of the very friendly cats slept with us, a bonus as far as we were concerned. Des and Paulette were friendly and helpful. We missed the first dayâs breakfast, which is off-site, because we werenât paying attention to the 10 am cutoff time, but it was Easter Sunday, and we found a great brunch nearby. Everything was easy walking distance, but dinner places were limited, again because it was Easter Sunday.
Our stay at The Pillars was relaxing and very enjoyable. The Crains are wonderful hosts with a beautiful home. The Guest Apartment was cozy, quiet and eclectically decorated making our stay everything we expected and more.
My husband and I along with our small dog Remi decided on a last minute getaway to Natchez. This was our first experience at staying in a bed and breakfast. We had such a lovely time. The Crainâs made us feel so welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Frankie and Sherlock also. The house and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We look forward to visiting again hopefully real soon.
I have two issues regarding The Pillars.
First: This is not a "Bed and Breakfast." Breakfast is not available on the site. We received a voucher for a free breakfast at another facility, four blocks away from The Pillars. A Keurig Coffee maker was available on our floor, unfortunately the brand of coffee provided was terrible!
Second: The bathroom's floor had a decided tilt that made getting to the toilet or taking a shower like being on stormy seas!
Enjoyed The Pillars B&B in Natchez,MS. The family was great and the accommodations were lovely!! We especially enjoyed Sherlock, Frankie and Ava. Des and Paulette are very nice and helpful.
Just a one night stay but it was great experience as the room was so beautiful. Our host was always available and if you are a pet lover what a bonus as the family pet dog and cat always want attention. Private gated parking for out motorcycles was perfect. Breakfast provided by first class restaurants only blocks away. Donât stay on a hotel unless you desire a crowd. Will be back.
Sherlock was the star of the show! The cute doggy that greets you. The house was amazing and was in a great location to walk everywhere. During check in, maps and activities were given to us and we had a tour around the house. Natchez is a beautiful place with lots of restaurants and stores to explore. Definitely recommend.
