Disliked: Cleanliness
The person was terrible and the VRBO service was terrible. VRBO didn’t have a mechanism that if the host does not send information to the renterthat they contact the renter. Then, if the problem doesn’t get sorted out instead of taking responsibility, they perform at the lowest professional level possible and not solving the problem. Reflects very very poorly on VRBO as a business and the people who work there.

Arrived but not allowed in

We booked this several months ago because of the location being close to Yale. Never got any check in instructions. Tried contacting the host and got no response. Wasn't able to check in at all and had to book hotel 10 miles away. Waste of time. At least we were told we'd get refund and reimbursement for our hotel from VRBO.

Host never reached out with check-in information and numerous messages leading up to the rental. VRBO did refund so we were not left out with no place to stay. Can’t speak to the actual property as we did not stay there.

Ghosted by the host

Never got instructions for entry. No response from host when messaging and calling. VRBO help line put me off for several hours, promised to call me back with help and never did. Finally when I called back after not having a place to stay, VRBO told me to find another place and they would pay (they did). But why use VRBO if all they are going to do is not provide me a place and tell me to book somewhere else? Since I never got into the location, I have no idea if it was any good, but VRBO requires a rating some I'm guessing they were not very nice
