The Pearl, NH hidden luxury close to the Quinnipiac River in historic property
Amazing hidden luxury experience along the Quinnipiac River in a historic mid-19th century property with high ceilings, bay windows, & natural lights. Enjoy the scenic river and sunset views, and our nod to the areaâs history as a prominent oyster port. Soak in our stunner original claw-foot tub, recharge in the sunlit living room, work in the dining/writing alcove, or relax by the bay windows with a cup of coffee. No kitchen, but we have a coffee press, electric kettle, toaster oven, microwave, fridge, plates, and cutlery. We are 15 mins drive from Yale, 2 mins walk to the downtown bus, and easy cycling downtown.
Must climb stairs. The Pearl, New Haven is an 850sqft hidden luxury experience along the Quinnipiac River, with high ceilings, bay windows & natural lights. The Pearl was built in 1892, and recently redesigned by award-winning architects. The design pays homage to the areaâs rich history as a prominent oyster port, and leans on natural materials, layered textures, and vintage objects to deliver a clean and modern aesthetic, creating a beautiful tension between the old, and the new.
We are on a tree-lined residential historic block, 2 minutes from the Quinnipiac River (not the beach). There are opportunities to Kayak, sail, cycle, bird watch, jog, fish, or for lunch. The Pearl is huge and has charmingly imperfect hardwood floors. We have a real claw-foot tub, but you are welcome to take a shower instead. And do expect some lavender, as we have a huge plant outside.
We offer breakfast and dinner for a fee, please ask during booking. Also, we can make our washer (in the basement) available for guests staying for a week, or more for a small fee.
Before your booking, please confirm our location works for you as we cannot move our property.

Avis pour The Pearl, NH hidden luxury close to the Quinnipiac River in historic property
Wow! Our trip to The Pearl started with Ulo asking the most thoughtful questions about what she could have available for our infant son during our stay. How sweet and thoughtful! Then we got onto the beautiful 1892 property itself. Where to start? The gorgeous clawfoot soaker tub, or the incredible sunset views from the architectural windows overlooking the river? Everything in this property is impeccable and so clean it felt as though we were the first people to have stayed there. Also the bathrobes were such a treat and so fun to hang around in after a warm bath. Ulo also provided sooo many things, hair dryer, epsom salt, coffee, creamer even granola bars! The property is in a lively neighborhood, and we enjoyed our walks along the river and to a nearby oyster house that was a trip highlight. Do not pass on staying at this gorgeous respite!!!
This is a beautiful historic house, with amazing views of the river and a beautiful, well maintained garden. When we arrived we took in the scent of fresh lavender and admired the cute little swing hanging from a large tree. We were staying for just two nightsâ night before the wedding and the night ofâ but I wish we couldâve afforded more time on account of how beautiful it was.Communication via the Vrbo app was a little difficult but I appreciate that they answered immediately when I called and were very gracious about answering my questions.Check in was pretty easy but you need to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY because we fumbled for a bit and the answer was staring us in the face in the instructions lolLost of stairs and very narrow as expected but the apartment was very spacious and is able to be locked for maximum security and privacy.Everything was tastefully decorated and there were plenty of towels and conveniences like coffee, fridge, toaster oven, microwave, etc. And letâs be realâ we know youâre thinking about this place for the claw foot tub, so I will say it is every bit as beautiful and relaxing in person!Ulo was awesome and provided personal touches like a letter and welcome sign that made us feel right at home.If we were not on public school teachers salaries (and living in NC) we would definitely have to stay here again!
