The property was everything as advertised! a very cozy getaway! Great personal touches such as lighting be on upon arrival, a hot hot tub, entertainment, and all the information we needed!
The owners are so organized! I love all the technology and guidebooks they used. Very easy and informative. The cabin is adorable with comfy beds and good amenities. The hot tub was great. The only thing we didn't love was there is an old oil rig across the street, but it didn't smell or make a sound, so I guess they make good neighbors.
Enjoyed the inside and outdoor atmosphere so much. We had a fire in the fire pit while we played music at night. Cabin was so close to Avery Island and Jefferson Island, the places we wanted to visit. Weather was perfect the entire time we were there. Explored small towns around us and went into New Iberia as well. One suggestion would be to have recliners or ottomans for us seniors! Loved it overall!
Very cozy cabin, we are looking forward to trying the new one being built next door.
We liked the cabin and loved our time at Avery Island. A few things to remember check the weather, we had rain and could not light our fire as it rained half of our trip. Someone had to empty the firepit as it was full and we could not use it on the only dry night. A few things about this cabin, the stove, dishwasher, and fridge are awesome, perfect cabin to cook in. The coffee and kurig pot were super convenient. The water was always hot for the shower. We loved the fireplace. The hot tub was a tricky situation. The error message was saying (per google) to add water it was low. Whomever serviced this did not clean it. We added hot water via the tap near the hot tub and turned on the bubbles as the heat pump error came up and would not get hot. Once we added water and turned the bubbles on the hot tub came up to temperature. We had called, someone had "serviced" it prior three days before... they need to drain it and rinse it and refill it before each guest. As we sat we saw the foam of the hot tub had hair and dirt in it. We showered immediately. Only used it once. The stairs for the second floor is a ladder style. This did not bother me, I slept like a baby. The washer and dryer are on the second floor, so washing was fun, we tossed each other our things to wash and when they were done drying we threw them down to each other. The sofa was very comfortable.
The mattresses are firm and do mold to you for comfort. They provide plenty of everything you could need. Thank you :)
We stayed one night after a visit to the Tabasco museum. We chose to drive into New Iberia instead of taking Hayes road from Avery Island⊠it tried to take us down a gravel road on a sugar plantation. Check in was so smooth and the cabin was so clean. The Hot Tub was already around 90 degrees so it didnât take too long to warm up. I did turn it on right away and it warmed up quickly. WIFI was so strong and we got to stream movies and enjoy some down town. KCups were kindly provided so we didnât have to worry about coffee. I would recommend brining extra towels for the hot tub if there are more than two staying and using the hot tub. We ended up sleeping in the full size bed since we wanted to be close to the bathroom on the ground floor. It was tight but the mattress was pretty spectacular. We ate at Rip Van Winkle and toured the gardens. It was a really great stop and we were so so close. This cabin is certainly out of the way so we chose to just have breakfast in the cabin since New Iberia is a bit of a drive. Great kitchen. We did go to Bon Creole for dinner and it was excellent. If you can go up and down the ladder like steps and enjoy a quiet time, this is a lovely stay!
My wife and I had a great stay at this location. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing retreat and this place was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean and great communication. We plan on coming back.
