Very quirky and unique accommodation. We loved staying here, it was easy walking distance from the French Quarter. The courtyard was really relaxing to sit with a coffee in the morning.
We thought it was hilarious that the main door to the Courtyard Room opened straight into the bathroom - so you'd need to be really comfortable with your travelling companion.
The area around the accommodation felt very safe and quiet.
We stayed in the quaint and quirky âCarriage Houseâ. Architectural elements include several archways. This is a fun colorful room with Smart TV (great for your streaming services), refrigerator and microwave. The stand alone shower has a rain shower head and there is a hot tub on the back of the property. The courtyards and gardens were well cared for and replanted after NOLAs recent cold snap. A laundry on site is another great feature. Very walkable to both Frenchman Street and the Quarter.
This is a very small room so it doesnât really have a sitting area. There is a small bistro set in the hall outside the room. A second chair would be a nice addition.
Since all other guests must walk by the door of this unit there did seem to be a lot of activity outside the door at times.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect location for the Chewbucchus Parade.
Pros: Beautiful 3bed/3bath Cottage house with older New Orleans charm. Clean & spacious! Equipped with what you need. Comfy beds. Nice Hot Tub outback. Secured property with keyless entry.
Cons: Street parking was scarce. Homeless Camp less than 2 blocks down. People living in tents and broke down vehicles with stay dogs running loose.
Two night stay to experience New Orleans. B&W was only a few short blocks from Frenchman St., the river walk, market, Jackson square and fairly easy walk to Bourbon street. The property was quirky but certainly served the purpose. Bed was comfortable. Shower worked ok and had a jet tubâŠdidnât try. I was all set for hot tub after first day of walking about 15 miles around the sitesâŠbut it was only 1/2 full and very grungy. Outdoor seating areas were relaxing and visually pleasing. You never see anyone associated with B&W and they donât respond to questions once you are in. Could not figure out tv to get Sunday night football or any regular programming. I would probably stay here again. Just donât expect to get any 2 or 3 star hotel communication or services. Met other customers who left 1 & 2 days before usâŠno one came to check rooms or shut lights offâŠ
It was a nice place and full of character as would be expected in New Orleans. It was clean, and had everything we needed. Just a 5 min drive to the French Quarter.
We were delighted when we opened the door & saw the Courtyard. Such a beautiful place! We loved being able to walk all over & as a NOLA swing music lover the proximity to Frenchmen street was priceless. The room was beautifully decorated and adequately cooled. If we had one suggestion, it would be to have ceramic mugs for the coffee, instead of the styrofoam cups. Thank yâall so much!!
Easy to work with the management and access the property! The place was clean and ready for us. Super cute for the price and free parking was awesome to see!
We had the cottage and a Bungalow for our group of 9, and it worked out great.
The location was walkable to the quarter and the street car line, and there are great restaurants in the neighborhood and Bywater.
No concerns for safety, regardless of time of day. We would definitely stay there again.
Great stay, highly recommended!
Marigny is awesome neighborhood to explore with B&W close to Frenchmen St (5 min walk) and French Quarter (15 min walk) to enjoy.
B&W was very communicative leading up to and during our stay. We had a minor issue with thermostat and they responded and fixed it right away. The property is older full of character which we like. We stayed in the Courtyard Room which was quiet and dark for good sleep coming back from night out. The drawbacks of older properties are there like plumbing and electrical is not state of the art, but tradeoff is charm and history. B&W is doing a great job here, we would definitely come back to stay here and recommend to our family/friends.
We stayed for Mardi Gras. Location was great and they were attentive to replacing a defective hairdryer the same day. I only wish they would have offered a mid-week cleaning as living in a single room with another person can get messy! Otherwise great water pressure quaint courtyard.
Absolutely beautiful, unique property just out of the hustle and bustle of the Quarter, but easy walking distance to all of the sights. The French Market station is a few short blocks away and gives you access to beyond the Quarter. Included were all of the usual conveniences and a super comfy bed! Our hosts had thought of everything that we might need and any questions we had were just a text away. Soaking in the hot tub after a day of sightseeing was the perfect way to end the day! Horn's - literally a few steps away - is a gem. A great spot for breakfast. The property's two courtyards are the perfect place to curl up with a good book and a latte on a lazy afternoon. We highly recommend B&W Courtyards and look forward to our next stay! Lisa and Rene - Calgary, Alberta
