Room needs updating and a good cleaning. Beds were very old uncomfortable and squeaky. One bed had dust ruffle one did not showing bad wear of bed.Tub was falling apart and moldy. Room smelled very musty and moldy. Room was dark and windows did not open. Location was great. Pictures of room very mis leading. The bar may baileys was closed even though its posted hours said open.

Room was not ready until after 730pm, despite checking in at 1030am and letting them know we are available, multiple clients were booked into their room ahead of us. Front desk indicated they would credit us for the night, but apparently never left the note on our record, and subsequent staff told us there was nothing to be done because we booked through expedia. Very disappointing

Other than having to park several blocks away, this hotel did not disappoint. We appreciated the location and especially enjoyed May Baily's bar right on the property. Definitely recommend!

My husband and I came to NOLA for a long weekend and stayed here. We absolutely loved our room! The bathroom was beautiful, the space was generous, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location was also perfect—within walking distance of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter—which saved us a lot on Ubers. We would have easily given this hotel 4–5 stars, but our checkout experience unfortunately brings the rating down to 3 stars. On the morning of our departure, housekeeping stopped by around 9am. We let her know we were still in the room. Around 10:30am, I heard her in the hallway complaining that we were still inside. Then, around 11am, she knocked again. I told her we were checking out that day and would be leaving shortly. Since checkout is at 12pm, we didn’t understand the rush. When we checked out at 11:30am, the front desk clerk was on the phone with the same housekeeper, who was still complaining about us being in the room. I confirmed with the clerk that checkout is indeed at 12pm, and he said everything was fine. Despite that, we left feeling rushed and disrespected. We were well within our right to stay until checkout, and her attitude came across as rude and unprofessional. We would still love to return on our next visit to NOLA—the hotel itself is wonderful. Hopefully next time the housekeeping team will be in better spirits!

The property is charming, although old. The staff is incredibly friendly. However, management is very poor. My room was not fully stocked, there is always confusion about my bill, and when I checked out, I could not get a credit invoice, but later checked and found out I’ve been overcharged.

I cannot recommend staying here to anyone, but if you do, ONLY stay in the Hermann House rooms. I had three separate reservations here due to room type changes, and the first and third reservations were in the main building, which was one of the worst stays ever. Please look elsewhere than this hotel, I am not sure why other people have scored it so high. This particular review, however, is for the Hermann House rooms - very big and very comfy rooms. However, it smelled very much like mold/mildew, which is common for historic buildings, but they did nothing to try and mitigate that. Very run down and dated, furniture in the living area was stained and dirty. Staff is EXTREMELY kind and helpful.
