I asked for a quiet room and was told my 4th floor front-on-the-street room was quiet because it's a suite with a separate bedroom that would be in the back. It is not. I can hear garbage trucks and other traffic, and people. That aside, the room is very spacious and the hotel staff (other than the above) was gracious. I will stay here again.

Great place I'm hooked.

Wow, this place is super! There's usually no loyalty under $500 for New York Hotels, but this place may have just changed that for me. Big old solid pre-century hotel with think walls so you never hear anything, and rooms that are bigger than most NYC 1 bedroom apartments. Its quiet and clean and comfortable and still in the center of it all.
