Family reunion trip

A very comfortable stay in the heart of mod town NYC close to the Grand Central Station. Not a beautiful hotel, but efficient. They give only 1 drink for breakfast, so you have to choose between your coffee and juice, and I certainly think they should do better than that.

Needed repeated reminders to get water, towels and bedding. Booked and paid for three people and no bedding was provided for the child sleeping on sofa pull out bed. Had to call multiple times to get the bedding and then housekeeping would leave towels, tea etc enough for two people only when clearly we booked the room for three people. Getting clean drinking water was such a hassle as well. The hotel said they will deliver two water bottles per day but had to request multiple times before we would actually get the bottles and once I just had to go out to the convenience store to buy water bottles. The staff said we could refill water bottles from the cooler but that was located in the gym area. You have to come to main lobby and then take another set of elevator to access the gym…. As the hotel charges $30 destination fees, they said we could get $20 worth of laundry/ cleaning done every day and have breakfast to go for one person per day or buffet for one person. When I actually called to have laundry picked up I was told that the service is not available on Sunday. Why they didn’t tell me earlier that it is not available on Sunday? When I went to grab breakfast to go for my family I gave them the coupons the staff at the restaurant said I could choose two things per card. Staff seemed so judgemental when I said that the family is still getting ready so I am grabbing stuff for them and didn’t even let me complete my order before moving on to next guest. Terrible service

Loved our stay at the Westin Grand Central. The staff was all very polite and accommodating for me and my family (two adults and two young children). And the location was perfect for everything we wanted to explore in NYC. The area around the hotel felt super safe and had plenty of stores and cafes to check out nearby. I knew in advance that the destination/resort fee was required but that it covered breakfast and in my opinion it was well worth it. The hotel is “separate” from the restaurant in the sense that they don’t share staff or fees so whatever you get extra will be charged to your room. The restaurant host was amazing but the wait staff could’ve been more polite. Overall, the food was a delicious way to start our days. I would definitely stay there again!
