While you are here make sure you visit some of the nearby attractions Cherryburn (National Trust) and Prudhoe Castle (English Heritage) that make for interesting trips out. Take a day to explore Beamish Open Air living museum and other days to explore Hadrian’s Wall (World Heritage Site), which was the north-west frontier of the Roman Empire for nearly 300 years. Nearby, the pretty village of Wylam has an multi-award winning CAMRA pub. The restaurant, only a few yards away, serves lovely food and is popular with villagers and visitors alike.
