Cheap and cheerless

10 minutes before even acknowledged when checking in. Heating not working. Two guests arrived whilst I was waiting to check in to say their heating wasn't working either. V tired condition overall. Inconvenience collars placed over shower gel to prevent you getting more than a tiny tiny tiny squirt - mean. V unimpressive shower. Comfortable enough bed. Door worked fine.

Pretty good with unfortunate niggles

Pretty good overall. Breakfast especially good and room comfortable. Main downside was the bathroom which looked old and tatty especially the silicone sealant. Toilet constantly running. Sink tap constantly leaking from handle and occasionally making a loud vibrating noise which could also be heard coming from other rooms. Shower good though. But liquid soap and shampoo poor quality and nozzles don't screw properly into bottles and don't pump properly. No sound proofing against corridor noise (and there was plenty) and you had to make sure to push or pull the door behind you because it did not swing fully closed.

The Leonardo Hotel in Newcastle is disappointingly shabby, a far cry from the four-star luxury it claims to offer. Dust clings to surfaces like a stubborn guest, while the carpets—grubby and barely vacuumed—look as though they’ve not seen proper care in ages, leaving the whole place feeling worn and neglected. Assigning me a disabled room without asking felt like an oversight, only adding to the lackluster experience. A Premier Inn honestly provides a cleaner, more comfortable stay for less. Leonardo needs to invest in a serious deep clean and better upkeep to even approach the standard they advertise—until then, it’s a letdown worth skipping.

Terrible experience

Shocking. Broken bed, threadbare carpet, rotten woodwork and no hot water for the whole stay. Staff tried and gave a discount but the whole experience was awful.

Poor for a 4 star.

Rooms was very tired. Bathroom was old, no plug in the sink. Couldnt access the soap and due the the anti theft device. Hotel had no hot water throughout my stay so couldnt shower, it was freezing.

First Class Customer Service!

Fantastic customer service! Brian went above and beyond the expected. Very friendly and informative. He made by partner's daughter beam with happiness with the sweet treats and his wonderful magic show! Yana on reception was also brilliant. They both deserve a special mention.

An ideal place for an overnight, just a 10 minute walk from central station. Staff were amazing, very welcoming and chatty. Room was comfortable, with a great bed.

Check in guy was a little abrupt. Beared guy. Woke.up on the morning with a busy day a head of us to have no water. Couldn't shower, brush teeth and toilet was struggling to flush. Rang reception to the same abrupt guy who was on check in to tell me that everyone was trying to shower at the same time and the pressure was down as the pump can't take every one showing at the same time. This is not acceptable in a large hotel . I felt dirty not been able.to shower and freshen up and to add insult the woman on reception told me I could maybe go to a one gym.or local swimming baths to shower 🤔 it had spoilt our valentines stay not been able to shower

Aparently its perfectly acceptable for allowing shouting along the corridors and music coming from rooms at 0100! The staff at reception where enjoying a conversation together I dont think they even seen what I looked like - simply bare minimum communication and gave me the room key. I should have booked the cheaper hotel up the road! The shower pressure certainly seen better days. I will not recommend here.

Great hotel, very welcoming. Beds were extremely comfy! Best pillows ive ever had in a hotel. Very clean, definately stayed in worse hotels over the years. Would 100% return.
