Lovely little property. Everything was nice and clean, the kitchen facilities are adequate for a short stay. A bit more storage space in the kitchen would be useful, the stools under the counter could be done away with and a cupboard put in, but apart from that very comfortable. There is a nice pub across the road and a lovely tea rooms next door for breakfast. Ideally situated for Beamish museum and there is the added bonus of a free pass from the owner. Some beautiful walks right from the door, you can walk to Tanfield Station through the gorge, taking in Causey Arch, where you can take a trip on a steam train. The only negative is that the sat nav takes you to some properties on the wrong side of the road which is confusing. Signage on the road would be useful. The turn off is actually opposite the Roadhouse pub, rather than on the same side. All in all we had a lovely stay and will be back, now we know where to find it! Thank you Hilary
