Simply the best

All the staff are friendly and go above and beyond to help you enjoy your staff. Food and ambience is very good as are the facilities. It is without question our preferred hotel when visiting Newmarket.

A decent stay

Hotel is in a lovely area, especially if you like horse racing. Don’t arrive early though as it is £30 for early check in, even if the room is available, you are not permitted to use the pool until checked in so the only option is to come back later or go to the hotel bar and wait, or pay £30. The rooms are nice, a bit dated, but bathrooms appear to have been recently renovated. Rooms have aircon which is good, and the beds are comfy. We don’t visit the spa, just the health club, the pool is warm, and whilst it has clearly had a recent paint, the floor tiles are dated and stained even though cleaned daily. Breakfast is great, not much room to get to the buffet as the tables/chairs are packed in tight, but quality of the food is great.

I have stayed here many times over the past six years. I have noticed in the past six months or so that the cleanliness seems to have slipped, particularly in the bathrooms. I've also noticed that what used to be top notch customer service seems to have completely disappeared. The wifi did not work in my room and when I called reception, the woman working told me that I was wrong, and needed to wait for it to show up in my wifi list and then she hung up (it never did). When I had an issue with my key, I went to reception, after breakfast, and waited five minutes for anyone to come out. I used to love coming to Bedford Lodge, and have booked my executive team there for weeks at a time, but I think this was my last visit. There are so many options in the area, with the lack of customer service, Bedford Lodge does not seem to be a top choice anymore.

Had a lovely overnight stay here on Friday night. Lady on reception was very welcoming, and the bar staff were very accommodating, the pub garden was very busy and unfortunately we couldn’t get seated but the weather was gorgeous so everyone had the same idea. We also tried to get into the pool and hot tub however this was also super busy so we didn’t bother. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely lovely, the menu had so much to choose from and again, all the staff in the restaurant were very lovely. Definately would recommend and stay again!
