Air conditioning problems!
We were not informed at check-in that A/C had been on the blink all week. 85 degrees F in our unit at one point! Knew something was up when we noticed portable a/c units and fans, which were cumbersome with 2 toddlers in the room. Staff admitted ongoing problem “being dealt with” but didn’t offer much relief, besides occasional reboot of system. After multiple complaints, I was reimbursed half the cost of my stay, but still not satisfied.

Hotel overbooked and told me we would have to find a new place to stay upon arrival. After explaining that it is difficult to find a room to accommodate my family of 6 without prior arrangements, the hotel said they had a cancellation and provided us a room. It happened to be in a separate part of the hotel (some sort of apartment or condo area) and it was very old, dirty and the hallway had doors/ceiling tiles that had been busted in. We went back to the office and asked to speak to a manager- but there was no manager on site. After going back and forth for about 20 minutes, they found us a room in the main hotel which was what we were expecting. I’ve never had such a difficult time checking into a hotel ever.

My family of 5 had a reservation (and it was already paid for through Expedia before we arrived!) for July 4th Weekend. When we tried to check in, they told us that they were oversold and an owner took our unit. They would NOT help us find another hotel and gave us a number to call (who tried to put us up at a Motel 6). No sympathy for the 3 young children they had just displaced. Needless to say it was next to impossible to find a new room (2 rooms actually, as we are a family of 5... the entire reason we booked a 2 bedroom suite) in Newport on the 4th of July. They were rude and just awful and I would never attempt to stay at a Wyndham again because apparently they can just cancel your reservation even though you paid for your room.
The resort is excellent with great amenities. However I had a bad experience during check-in. I had booked a 3BR condo for 3 nights in May, all the way back in Jan 2025. Upon checking in, I was told that the 3BR condo is not available and I had to wait 15-20 mins and was provided a 2BR condo. I was also told that I would receive a refund for the differential amount. However after checkout I didn’t receive any refund after multiple follow ups. Thus folks beware about what you are booking and what reservation you will get.
The space was plenty big. It was three bedrooms with a pullout couch in the living room. The table was very awkwardly position so you really couldn't fit six people for eating. We were just using it for sleeping for a graduation. There was plenty of space. It was very conveniently located next to America's Cup Ave.

Nice enough, heat didn’t work for two days. Lots of construction going on outside that was very noisy. Diesel air compressor running non stop outside the window for construction. Pool was closed. I imagine during the regular season with no construction this place is probably great but not the case for us.
Check in was great, Giovanna checked me in. There was a slight problem with the room I was going to stay in. She fixed it immediately with no questions. I was also given information on local things to do and eat along with where the locals also went to pick up food. If staying in this area again, I would definitely stay and recommend to anyone.
