Couldn’t see the ocean, hotel on the outside looks beautiful and grand inside is more run down than you would expect a hotel like that to be. The room was ok nothing to write home about. Could use some serious updating, paint etc. kind of expected the gilded age vibe inside and didn’t really get that. Would also like to note there is not much sound deadening between rooms could hear a lot of chatter from hallway and a joining room. Room above is sounded like they had lead shoes on. Overall it was not bad although we did not spend much time in the room. Would we come back? Yes but because it is really convenient to everything down town walking distance. The valets were all super nice. Staff was friendly.

A perfect getaway weekend

The beds in the rooms were more than comfortable better than the standard bedding in chain hotel rooms. Breakfast selections were excellent well prepared and delicious the dining area and the serving staff outstanding

The room was spacious and charming. But the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The toilet and shower were on one side of the hallway, and the sink was on the other side. There was clear water damage on the wall behind the toilet that had been addressed, but was a mess. And the side with the toilet and shower was tiny, you could barely fit to sit on the toilet.

Needs renovation badly. Beautiful exterior but as you walk in, it looks to be a cheap renovation trying to make it modern but not succeeding. Our room was lovely. Our bathroom on the other hand was less than lovely. The tub was all torn up the tile horrible. It looks like they attempted to tile it at some point. There were cracks in the floor and mismatch tiles. I would not expect this for $500 a night.

Beautiful historic hotel in a quiet but convenient location in Newport. Most of the hotel and rooms have been updated and are very nice but the bathrooms still need work. Very old style bathtub/shower and tile that could easily be replaced to keep up with everything else. Other than that, it's a very nice stay.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food in the resturant was superb. The town trolley stops on the hotel corner. There is a cute coffee, pastry, sanwich cafe across the street. The rooms are fairly small and the furniture a little worn. All in all, a great 3 days.

The best location in all of Newport. A beautiful walk to the shops on Bellevue Ave and Thames Street. The hotel is luxurious and the most comfortable beds.
