Beautiful Waterview Studio

Beautifully appointed, studio apartment. Minutes walk from the beach ,shops and cafe. With views of the water and surrounding countryside. Expansive decks with wooden loungers and bbq for relaxing and soaking up the sun. A private, luxury retreat suitable for two. Bring your boat or choose from one of the many charters leaving from the Tutukaka harbour diving, fishing or sightseeing.

A part of your view is the Ngunguru Sandspit which is now owned by the Department of Conservation and a wonderful place to explore and discover some of New Zealands rare native birds.

Ngunguru is part of the Tutukaka coast which won the title of 2nd best coast line in the world. Just minutes walk is the Ngunguru Estuary which is perfect for swimming, kayaking and also has a water skiing lane. Paddle over to Ocean Beach or the Ngunguru bar for a surf or walk around to Wellingtons Bay. It is also home of the world famous Poor Knights Islands which is a marine reserve area, renowned for fabulous diving.

A couple of minutes over the hill is the Tutukaka Marina, which is also home to Schnappa Rock Restaurant and the Marina Pizzeria. Drive another 5 minutes and you will be at Matapouri Bay, Whale Bay and Sandy Bay. When your day is complete, you can relax in the loungers, light the barbecue and watch the sun set.

Such a great location and everything you need is there! Great cafes and restaurants nearby and Sandy Bay (one of our favourite beaches) is only 15 mins drive.

Great location. Loved the big deck and views. The size of the studio was perfect for us. The cleanliness could be improved though - the utensils, plates etc had not been cleaned very well.The bedding didn't seem to fit the mattress as the fitted sheet kept coming off.

We absolutely love this little studio. It has everything you need, fantastic views and close to everything. We have now stayed here over 4 Easter’s and will be booking again for next year. Lesley is easy to deal with and always quick to respond. Highly recommend this special little place.

Perfect spot

A lovely place. Great location with a beautiful outlook. Everything we needed was there and having use of two kayaks really made our trip. The local food truck has amazing food and the Ngunguru locals are super friendly. We will be back.

Ideal location and stunning view

A very relaxing setting for a summer break. Studio is largely private from owner's residence above. (The only downsides were limited wardrobe space and a bathroom that wasn't brilliant at airing out, but there's plenty of space outside to hang towels to dry)Turning the car on the steep driveway is no problem for Wellingtonians ;-)

Little piece of paradise

Beautiful studio with a stunning deck, private entrance to the studio, within walking distance to the cafes, restaurants and beaches. Stocked with everything you need. The views from the deck are stunning. Hosts were lovely, they made us feel welcomed and offered us late check out!. I 100% both recommend it and would come back. Thank you!

Simply perfect

From the moment we arrived we just relaxed, the house had everything we needed with amazing view over the countryside and the beach. Close to great cafes, shops and restaurants. But you don't have to leave the house with all you could need to bbq, cook and sit outside with the views to eat all your meals. The peace and quite was just so overwhelmingly perfect! We will be going back with our 2 little dogs again they also loved the outdoor space and the house and all the time they got with us relaxing. Thank you to the lovely helpful hosts for having us!

Lovely quiet location. Comfy bed. Well-equipped kitchen. So nice to be close to some beautiful places to explore. Only issues: TV Reception poorand remote not working. We had trouble locking the front door (it seemed to lock but didn’t!) We couldn’t make the bedside lights work. These hiccoughs did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. We would highly recommend!

What a gem!

Quality accommodation with a massive outdoor area offering both covered and uncovered areas to sit and relax. Wonderful views and very central with an easy walk into the township. We spotted a band was playing at the local Sports club so joined the club for the day (costing 5 for 2 people), the band was great and we had a delightful evening meal too - everyone was really friendly, definitely worth a visit. The extra fridge/freezer was very useful as the one inside the studio is small. A great Webber BBQ is available. Sufficient pots, pans, plates, glasses etc are provided. We had very warm and sunny weather so were grateful for the aircon! The owner is delightful and allowed us a later check out which was much appreciated.A very thoughtfully laid out studio, ideal for a couple. We will return!
