Beware of this place. When I arrived the staff was very rude to me, as if me checking in was an inconvenience to them. They charged me $12 per night for parking, which I wasn’t made aware of before checking in. The sheets and towels all had stains on them. The bedbug cover on the mattress had several holes ripped in it, which didn’t make me feel very safe staying here. Then, halfway through my stay they changed their parking price to $5 and refused to refund me for the higher price they had made me pay ahead for that day. The parking felt like they were taking advantage of me, and trying to get people to book based on the low price, but then tacking that on at arrival. I would have spent less money staying at one of the nicer hotels in town, and probably not have been treated so rudely.

more than adequate for the price - good location - very friendly helpful staff - we were able to check in at 12 noon - very convenient parking as we backed up right to our room - so convenient to Ferry St, Chucks Roadhouse, and several other bars with happy hour specials - sadly the Admiral Inn next door is derelict and waiting for demolition - heating which we unfortunately neede in late may was very efficient (heater in the washroom too) - and fridge kept the beer very cold - you get what you pay for and this place is comparatively a bargain for a 2 night stay

Great place to stay on a budget! Staff was friendly! Parking was $12/24hrs. Ice and coffee in main office. Double queen room came with a large enough area for a playpen, 2 circular tables and 2 large chairs, dresser, good size tv with both childrens channels and adult. And a night stand between the beds. Nice to have somewhat of a balcony. Was less than $200 for a friday and saturday night stay!

one of the lights in the room was not working, the plug points for fridge and tv was not working, I had to unplug the microwave and and ac power connection to plug in the tv And fridge. There were no plug points working for charging my phones, the shower turn-on button was not working in the bath tub.

Both the hotel and Expedia were working together to scam its customers. It started with an advertisement showcasing a room at the Embassy Suites, on Expedia. After I had paid, within minutes I had headed to the Embassy Suites where I found out that the hotel room that was purchased was at another hotel, the Empress Inn. Here, I called the Empress Inn to cancel my booking, within few minutes of booking, and was told in order to cancel I would have to have Expedia cancel the booking. Upon contacting Expedia, I was told they were unable to cancel unless the hotel would cancel it, where they stated they had trouble contacting the hotel. I then asked them again to contact the hotel as I was just off the phone with them, they then miraculously where able to contact the hotel and stated that even though it had been a couple of minutes of booking that they were unable to cancel it. I then went to the Empress to speak with its staff, they just stated it was out of their hands and that we should continue contacting Expedia. They also stated this has happened before with Expedia and that we should be more firm with them. They were just passing the blame onto each other, with no accountability. The had falsely advertised a room at Embassy Suites, using a picture of their rooms, for a room at the Empress Inn. To add, a room at the Empress Inn costs 77 (with tax) CAD, and I was charged with Expedia 94 (with tax)CAD.
