Khamkirri means "place of the leopard," which sounds exactly like the experience: unforgettable and exciting! Exciting indeed, because what's that coming out of the bush? Is that a giraffe? Kudu or...? Especially in the evening, when you're relaxing on the veranda enjoying a drink, the cracking of the bush is a wonderful experience. How about relaxing in the splash pool on the veranda overlooking the bush?

Kruger National Park is very close, so you can experience all the sounds from the veranda. The park is easily accessible from the villa; the entrance is practically around the corner (about a 20-minute drive from the villa).

Khamkirri is a detached (self-catering) holiday villa, built in African style (an original bush house) with a traditional thatched roof. The holiday villa consists of two buildings, built on a plot of over 2000 m². From the verandas, you have a view of the Crocodile River and Kruger National Park during the winter period when the bush is not as lush.

The villa is ideal for a larger family or group! It sleeps no fewer than eight, four of which are in a separate building, allowing everyone to create their own space if desired.

The villa itself consists of a spacious living room and a modern, fully equipped open-plan kitchen. Also on the ground floor is the master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom featuring a soaking tub, separate shower, toilet, a vanity with two sinks, and an outdoor shower with complete privacy. All beautifully finished in African style. The bedroom has ample closet space, air conditioning, and a fan. The villa has its own private Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi is available FREE 24/7 throughout the house and outdoors.

Upstairs, there is a spacious bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom includes a shower, bathtub, sink, and toilet. The bedroom is equipped with air conditioning and a fan.

Upstairs, there's a spacious veranda and lounge area. There's also a relaxation corner where you can unwind.

The top floor of the annex/cottage contains two bedrooms. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, each equipped with a shower, sink, and toilet. An outdoor shower with complete privacy, overlooking the bush can also found on the balcony. The bedrooms are also equipped with air conditioning and fans.

The top floor is a great place to retreat if you need some privacy; there's also a seating area with a small kitchenette and refrigerator.

Besides all the comfort and luxury inside, there's plenty to experience outside. First of all, we have a separate outdoor dining area. This is somewhat secluded, allowing you to enjoy your meal in peace, perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Especially for dinner, we also have a dedicated area for the braai (African BBQ) with an outdoor kitchen (complete with sink and water hookup), making outdoor cooking a breeze! Enjoy a delightful barbecue together in the middle of the bush!

Don't feel like cooking? Even that's an option in Marloth Park, where you'll find several delicious restaurants.

Marloth Park Villa

We had a wonderful time in Marloth Park! Kudu, zebras, and warthogs were on hand to greet us and Trish made check in easy! The villa is beautiful and perfectly situated near the Crocodile Bridge gate. We would definitely recommend a stay and can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful house with top end furnishing and decor. The hosts and local contacts were a pleasure to deal with. We saw 9 different types of mammals on the property in the 3 days we were there. I would highly recommend the house if traveling to Marloth Park. It is also very convenient to the Crocodile Bridge Entrance to Kruger.

Great stay in Marloth Park

We were so happy to find this wonderful home in Marloth Park on short notice—it turned out to be absolutely perfect for our family! Don and Trish were amazing hosts: super friendly, welcoming, and always quick to respond.The house had everything we needed, including a lovely little plunge pool that the kids loved cooling off in during the day. Evenings were peaceful and cozy as we made fires under the stars.The highlight of our stay was having animals come right up to the house in the mornings—such a magical experience to enjoy breakfast while watching wildlife so close! The house is also just a short walk from the river, where we were lucky enough to spot a pride of seven lions.We’re already excited to come back, and hopefully next time we’ll be able to stay even longer!

6 night stay in Marloth Park (Khamkirri)

We had a fantastic time. The house was accurate to photos and description, very African style. Fabulous. Equipped with everything you needed for self catering and very clean. Saw our first wildebeest in the back garden as we were being shown around. A variety of animals including giraffe seen from the house every day. Marloth Park was almost better than the Kruger for seeing animals up close (except the big 5). Ideal for anyone who wants to photograph or just enjoy the wildlife.

Wonderful

If you would like to stay in a comfortable a bit rustic house with wildlife roaming around in the bush outside, this is your place. Thoroughly enjoyed it, would have liked to stay longer. Crocodile bridge gate is about 20 min away, but you can look over into Kruger from the balconies. Giraffe was standing right next to our car one morning. Kidu, Impala, Zebras, Warthogs etc abound and good bird life. Restaurants and basic groceries close. 6/5 stars

Absolutely Fabulous Stay

We stayed for a month at Villa Khamkirri and it was wonderful in all ways. From the excellent communication with Trish the property manager to the well appointed house, comfortable beds and linens, fully stocked kitchen, and amazing patio teeming with wildlife and birds. Daily walks on the Seekoi river road provided a wide variety of game viewing including lions, hyenas, waterbuck, bushbuck, warthogs, and many water birds. Marloth Park provided everything we needed from the small Spar and petrol station to amazing restaurants with our absolute favorites being the Tin Shack and Jabula. The Mozambique prawns at both places are delicious. We used Khamkirri to work Mon-Thur and then spent the weekend in Kruger Park. It was an easy 15 minute drive from the villa to Crocodile Bridge gate. If we ever have the opportunity to visit South Africa again, we hope to return to this amazing location.

Wonderful Home

Beautiful home decorated in true South African style. The home was clean, safe, with easy access to Kruger Park entrance. Animals came to the patio to visit. The home backs up to Kruger crocodile entrance so there are many animals near the house. The sunsets overlooking the river were amazing; elephants and giraffes are usually found having a early evening or morning drink from the river. Shopping is near by (20 min) for groceries which helps to cook at home and make food for all day Safari trips. If you are not one to cool there are plenty of restaurants near the home. Dealing with the owners was seamless and more than willing to help with any questions. My family of five would definitely return.

A wonderful location, a first-rate home, and a great host.

The home is spacious and comfortable, with all the modern conveniences you need to feel right at home. We had warthogs, monkeys and giraffe visit the property while we were there, which was a real treat. Also, the Crocodile river is a five-minute walk away, which provided excellent game viewing. We saw Kudu, buffalo, hippo, elephant and crocodile on our walks along the fence above the river. The only problem we had was with the electric power. The system got overloaded several times which required us to go outside to reset the breaker, and to switch off some equipment like the air conditioners to avoid tripping the breaker again. Our host was very helpful and responsive regarding this issue. Long-term they may need to upgrade the system so it does not continue to get overloaded.

Great Experience

I've spended 8 days at the great Khamkirri house. I would recommend it to everyone who is planning to have a trip to South-Africa to visit the Kruger Park. You can easily reach the Kruger Park (about 20 minutes by car), and even see the Crocodile River by walking 100 meters or sitting on the balcony (in the winter when the leaves have fallen down). I spended most of the mornings there, listening to the sound of the African Wildlife (which is even better in the evening by the way, you can hear the lions roar sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine). Me and my sister stayed at the 'little' house, the cottage. It was great, we both had our own room with bathroom so we could have our own space. And the thing I liked the most was that there were animals crossing the garden (zebra's, giraffes, impala's, gudu's and so on). I have seen them all. I loved this experience, the environment is great, there's lots of stuff to do and the house was just perfect for this vacation.

Luxury in the middle of wild life

At the end of May/beginning of June I stayed in Khamkirri for 1,5 week. I had an absolutely amazing holiday there! The house includes literally everything you can think of from several luxurious rooms with each a private bathroom to a fully equipped kitchen (there is literally nothing I can name that wasn’t there). The most amazing thing I experienced around the house were the animals that came really close. One day we were just sitting around the veranda, when a giraffe came passing by at a distance of 20 meters from the house, that was incredible! We have seen zebra’s, monkeys, birds and many more animals around the house. At night you can literally hear the lions and rhinos at the riverside of the Kruger Park making noise. Besides enjoying yourself watching many animals while simply sitting at the veranda, there are literally a thousand things to do in the area ranging from the Panorama route to a visit to the chimpanzee centre, from visiting the Kruger park during day time with your own car to going to the supermarket which is an experience by itself and from a visit to Swaziland to a sunset safari in the Kruger park. These are only a few examples of activities in the area. I have travelled quiet a lot already, but I have never ever experienced nature as close in such a luxurious house as I did in Khamkhirri, I can definitely recommend a visit to this beautiful house and surroundings in South Africa!

Superbe villa au milieu des animaux

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans cette villa à proximité de l'entrée du Kruger Park. Nous avons reçu la visite de plein d'animaux (zèbres, girafes, phacochères, impalas, gnous, mangoustes et surtout les petits galagos du Sénégal qui venaient tous les soirs sur la terrasse pour manger de la banane à côté de nous !) Nous avons aussi adoré le fait de pouvoir aller se promener au coucher du soleil le long de la Crocodile river et de voir des éléphants et même des lions ! Les oiseaux aussi sont magnifiques ! j'aimerai beaucoup y retourner quand tout est vert. Un grand merci aussi à Trish qui nous a si gentiment reçu et s'est occupé de l'entretien de la maison durant ces 3 semaines.

magnifique maison

Maison très agréable, grande et bien aménagée. Possibilité marché le long de la rivière , à côté du Kruger. Porte pour le par à 30mn. Impeccable. Commerces dans le parc Marlon. Je recommande vraiment si vous aimez le calme. Nous avons vu des animaux de la terrasse.

Een prachtvilla in een adembenemende omgeving

Vanaf het eerste moment voelden wij ons thuis in villa Khamkirri. De bouw, de ligging, de inrichting, alles was perfect. Het hekwerk dat het Marlothpark scheidt van het Krugerpark ligt op steenworp afstand. Vanuit de villa hebben we onze vele trips uitgevoerd. Vaak zijn we in het Krugerpark geweest, een dag naar Swaziland en 2 dagen hebben we de Panoramaroute gereden. De ingang naar het Krugerpark ligt vlakbij en na onze bezoeken was het prima eten in een van de vele goede restaurantjes op Marlothpark. Villa Khamkirri is een perfecte uitvalsbasis om dit gedeelte van Zuid-Afrika te ontdekken. Het is van alle luxe en comfort voorzien en als het echt warm wordt is het in de verkoelende splashpool heerlijk vertoeven met een goed glas Afrikaanse wijn. Dan is het ook vrij normaal dat er zebra's, impala's of giraffen in je tuin staan. Ook apen en vele vogels vinden de tuin van Khamkirri een oase. Wij komen zeker terug en dan wordt het weer Khamkirri.

Geweldig huis in Marloth Park

Om een echte Zuid-Afrikaanse vakantie te beleven, is dit de uitgelezen plek. Een geweldig huis, van alle gemakken voorzien. Ruime slaapkamers allen met een eigen badkamer. Het woongedeelte is riant, met een enorme keuken waarin werkelijk niets ontbreekt. De avonden op de veranda zijn door alle geluiden uit de bush en het nabije Kruger Park een belevenis op zich. Overdag is het hier ook goed toeven en als het warm is plons je even in de aanwezige splashpool. Een open vuur, een braairooster of een skottel, je kunt alles gebruiken, inclusief stromend water. Het Kruger Park ligt op slechts 20 kilometer afstand, voor Zuid-Afrikaanse begrippen een "kippeneindje". Boodschappen doen kan in Komatipoort of Malelane, maar ook Marloth Park heeft hier enige voorzieningen voor. Kortom: voor een beleving in de bush, inclusief alle door de tuin lopende dieren, moet je naar Villa Khamkirri in Marloth Park.

Geweldig huis in Marloth Park nabij Kruger Park

Om een echte Zuid-Afrikaanse vakantie te beleven, is Villa Khamkirri de uitgelezen plek. Een geweldig huis, van alle gemakken voorzien. Ruime slaapkamers allen met een eigen badkamer. Het woongedeelte is riant, met een enorme keuken waarin werkelijk niets ontbreekt. De avonden op de veranda zijn door alle geluiden uit de bush en het nabije Kruger Park een belevenis op zich. Overdag is het hier ook goed toeven en als het warm is plons je even in de aanwezige splashpool. Comfortabele vakantie in Villa Khamkirri

We hebben met 4 personen in totaal 9 nachten in villa Khamkirri, Marloth park, verbleven. Het is een comfortabel huis dat veel ruimte biedt voor in totaal 8 personen. De villa is voorzien van alle gemakken zoals: 4 mooie grote slaapkamers met elk een eigen complete badkamer. Zeer ruime keuken met 2 ovens, groot fornuis, magnetron, vaatwasser, grote koelkast en vriezer. Ruime veranda met splash pool waarin het heerlijk genieten is om onder genot van een drankje diverse dieren voorbij te zien trekken. Geregeld hebben we impala’s, zebra’s, giraffen, aapjes, kudu’s aardvarkens, diverse mooie vogels en andere dieren in de tuin en rondom de veranda gehad. Heerlijk om ’s-Avonds op de veranda te zitten en dan de geluiden te horen van brullende leeuwen of nijlpaarden die in het aangrenzende Kruger Park bij de crocodile river rond lopen. Het is een perfecte locatie om regelmatig het Kruger Park te bezoeken waarvan de ingang op ongeveer 15 minuten rijden ligt. We werden, voorafgaand aan onze reis, door de eigenaren ruimschoots voorzien van allerlei informatie. Deze informatie is tevens in een map bij de villa vastgelegd. Ook het advies van de eigenaren omtrent autohuur was geweldig en de korting werd bij thuiskomst binnen 3 dagen op onze rekening overgemaakt. De ontvangst door de houskeepers was ook prima geregeld en bij een tweetal probleempjes waren ze direct bereikbaar en behulpzaam. Wij hebben er een fantastische vakantie gehad en hebben bij diverse vrienden en kennissen deze villa al geadviseerd.

Waanzinnig

Het huis is fantastisch. Mooie grote slaapkamers. Erg fijn dat er bij elke slaapkamer een aparte badkamer is. Het was heerlijk om 's avonds op de veranda te zitten. Er komen zoveel verschillende dieren bij je op bezoek. De locatie is goed. De routebeschrijving, welke wij voor onze vakantie ontvangen hadden was prima. De navigatie in de auto hadden wij daardoor niet nodig. De ligging is ook geweldig. Voor de vakantie hadden wij veel tips gekregen over verschillende bezienswaardigheden en deze tips waren stuk voor stuk waardevol. Door de tips hebben wij alle mooie plekjes in de omgeving gezien. Al deze tips zijn opgeschreven in een map, welke in het huis aanwezig was. Ook de housekeepers zijn de gehele vakantie goed bereikbaar geweest, dit was handig, zodat we dingen konden vragen over het huis.
