Welcome to Wayland Beach Cottage, a relaxed beach retreat with your own private hot tub and separate game room. Unwind under the pergola, soak year-round in the 6-person hot tub, or enjoy movie nights and friendly competition around the full-size 8-foot pool table in your own entertainment space. With a fully fenced yard, smart TVs throughout, fast Wi-Fi, a long private driveway, and easy access to beaches and dining, it’s the perfect getaway for families and friends.

We welcome up to 2 house-trained, well-behaved dogs. The $50 pet fee should be added and paid at booking.

The space
Three comfortable bedrooms, each with a queen bed and wall-mounted smart TV, perfect for winding down after the beach or a full day of fun

Dining table seats six comfortably and doubles as a great spot for family meals, board games, or game nights

The main living space features a 65” smart TV and two cozy sofas, ideal for movie nights and family time

Modern kitchen with quartz countertops and full appliances including pots & pans, Keurig Duo (K-cups + drip), blender, toaster oven, and cooking utensils

The half bath off the kitchen also functions as a full laundry room with washer/dryer, Dyson vacuum, iron and board

The backyard is fully fenced and designed for relaxation. Comfortable seating under the pergola, and a 4-burner gas grill + grilling tools. It’s the perfect place for morning coffee, evening soaks, or winding down after a beach day

The hot tub is available year-round, and set to 100 farenheit (but temp is adjustable). It has 5 standard seats + 1 lounge seat

*new* Game Room! A detached entertainment space where you can enjoy an 85" TV, full-size 8' Olhausen slate pool table, and lounge seating. It's a great space for kids during the day and adults in the evening

Level 2 EV charger available in the driveway (40-amp NACS). J1772 adapter available too

Great spot! The house, especially the kitchen, was so well stocked. Loved how the kitchen was labeled so everything was so easy to find. The rooms even had chargers in them. Lots of little touches that just made it extra easy! We were in town visiting family so the hot tub was a perfect way to unwind after a long day! Will definitely stay again next time in Norfolk!

My family (three humans and two dogs) spent a very comfortable week here. The owners have thought of every little detail, and so we felt that we could find everything we needed. When little questions came up, they were very quick to respond via email. The house is located on a nondescript quiet residential street, and is just a few minutes from one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to. We would definitely return!

Absolute Gem! HIGHLY Recommend!!

This quaint little cottage was absolutely perfect for our family of three and our Mini Goldendoodle. We came to the Norfolk area for vacation and from this location we were able to do a great many things. The house was spotless and you could tell a lot of thought went into making the home as comfortable and convenient as possible. It was so nice not to have to guess which cabinet had what in it because everything was labeled perfectly. The beds were very comfortable, I usually have trouble sleeping through the night and had absolutely no trouble getting restful sleep every night we were there. Little details like having shampoo and body wash in the shower, coffee pods and all the necessary fixings, even though we didn't use them, there were some snacks in the cabinet as well. It was great to be able to do our laundry while we were there, I had very little to do when we got home. Having laundry pods and dryer sheets on hand was also very thoughtful and convenient. Hanging out in the backyard was very comfy, the grill worked really well and our dog loved running around and playing as it is very well fenced in. The neighborhood is very cute and quiet. We were able to take our dog for walks on the sidewalk and explore the area a little. Super convenient location. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and communicated quickly. I highly recommend this property! When in Norfolk we will definitely book here again! Thanks Emily for helping make our vacation so wonderful!

Very nice small house

A pleasant house for our family. Quiet neighborhood located close to everything we needed. Fenced backyard with a pergola was perfect for everyone, enjoyed especially by their small dog. We enjoyed playing cornhole. Lighting was very good. It was obvious that remodeling was well planned with attention to detail.

Navy Graduation Trip

This property was exactly and accurately depicted on VRBO. It was bright, clean, stocked with many household items which were used and appreciated, such as the Keurig coffee maker and supplies. The appliances were shiny and modern, the windows and floors clean, the furnishing bright, clean and welcoming. We were extremely comfortable and satisfied with this home. The host communicated check in and check out procedures, was available if needed (we did not have a need), and the host obviously takes pride in presenting a lovely home to guests.

Home away from home!

This was our first time staying in a place that provided most of what we needed. You can tell that Emily thought about everything that a family would need when being on vacation. We had plenty of towels/washcloths, there was liquid soap & shampoo in the shower. The kitchen had everything in it â˜ș food was the only thing we had to purchase. The laundry room was well stocked. Books and Board games available in the living room (we definitely enjoyed playing one of the games). The beds were comfortable, which made it more relaxing. Perfect for Military Family Visit

We were visiting our Navy son and his family. This place was perfect for that. It’s centrally located. It’s a fresh new remodel and it’s extremely well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The home has very pleasing decor with modern large TV’s. The privacy fence is small dog proof and the house is very dog friendly. Our grand kids came and spent a night with us. The house reflects a labor of love from the owners who are very easy to deal with. Highly recommended.

Such a lovely place. The bed sheets were soooo soft. I am definitely OCD because I looked at the glasses and silverware and it was spotless. I need quiet at night and it was literally perfect. We came to Norfolk to see the base and go to Virginia Beach the rest of the week. The house was amazing. Clean and quiet. Our hosts had everything we needed for the stay. Let’s just say we brought to much with us. The back yard was quiet and we enjoyed a nice night out on the back patio after we grilled out. And yes that was provided. Can’t say enough. Would love to get back in the upcoming years and stay longer. Thanks again!

Quaint home in perfect location

We had a wonderful stay in this home. It is beautifully furnished and the owners provide all of the necessities. The back yard was absolutely perfect for our dogs who enjoyed running around without having to be leashed. We also enjoyed sitting out there in the evenings. The location is great for access to Norfolk and Virginia Beach. There is also a public beach about a mile away from the property. Emily the owner was incredible to work with and I highly recommend this property.
