A really peaceful spot on Grand Caymanâespecially the quieter side away from the crowds.Being able to hop over to Seven Mile Beach by ferry is a big plus since thatâs one of the islandâs most famous stretches of sand. And having quick access to Rum Point means youâre close to water sports, snorkeling, and that laid-back beach vibe without being in a busy tourist hub.\Tukka tooâitâs well known for its Caribbean-Australian fusion and oceanfront setting, which fits perfectly with that relaxed, scenic feel.Place is very clean and once the wind died, great place to snorkel right off shore.
Our stay worked great for our 7 adults and 4 children! 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms plus 1/2 bath by kitchen and another full bathroom by pool area! Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and serving! We celebrated our 30th anniversary and were thrilled with our accommodations plus pool/beach toys and kayaks! Thanks, Jason!
The house was very clean and well maintained. It is however, a little outdated. When we arrived for check in with groceries in hand, the crew was still in the house attempting to fix the dishwasher which was not communicated to us. The location is remote, not close to affordable groceries or many restaurants. This isn't a complaint, just something we didn't realize. The dock is not covered like pictured at the neighbors, again, just something that wasn't clear in the pictures. The pool is a plunge pool size, not really suitable for swimming, but the kids loved it. At one point the manager came to our door and told us to close the windows and put away the kayaks. This was a little strange as we are usually left to enjoy our vacation without supervision. The house is extremely close to a busy road, so caution with kids getting in and out of vehicles. This also created some road noise for the two back bedrooms. The back area is peaceful and quiet. We loved having the kayaks. You do have to rent or bring your own snorkeling equipment. The area in front of the house is quite shallow, but if you venture out you can find some good snorkel areas. Overall this is a nice house, but didn't quite meet our expectations compared to other properties we have stayed at.
You will walk in and look out through those windows and know why I gave a 5 star. Ample space. Good snorkeling and kayaking and not a packed hotel area.
Great stay! We had a family gathering with seven adults and loved the gathering space and the multiple master suites! Great ocean views! Very responsive staff and great communication! We would stay here again!!
We had an amazing time. The snorkeling off the dock was fantastic. Loved the canoes as well. The property had everything we needed and more. Thank you so much for a great vacation!!
Excellent place for extended family gathering. The house is spacious, well equipped, and really had no limitations in how to enjoy a beachside vacation. The manager was super-responsive to requests/questions. We had a great time there!
Our family of 8 spent an amazing week on the island. The house had plenty of space for all of us, a great pool and outdoor area. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. They had adequate kitchen supplies for cooking and the general store is just a few houses away. The only negatives were, that from the advertisement, we thought the covered dock was with this house, but it is the neighbors. We still enjoyed the dock we had. Due to the reef and sea plants, we were unable to walk out into the ocean from the beach. The sand was amazing and we enjoyed countless breathtaking views.
Coco Kai was perfect for our large family vacation. Size and layout of the house, as well as en-suite bathrooms, provided enough space and comfortable living for everyone. Karen was very helpful and responsive to needs while at the property. Our group enjoyed the quieter North Side with easy access to great restaurants and excursions out of Rum Point and the East End. Outside of a few minor items (broken kitchen cabinet door, broken pool chair, and need for more dish towels) the place was great.
Coco Kai was the perfect place to have an extended family vacation. There were 14 of us ranging from 7 to 80. There was plenty of room for all.The pre-teens loved the pool and spent hours splashing and playing. In the evenings they used the game room machines or watched movies. The location is ideal. It is close to the North Side road but you barely hear any traffic. A small grocery is nearby. We had stayed on Rum Point previously and were happy to be so close to good memories and excellent snorkeling. The beach and reef at CoCo Kai, by the way, is also excellent for snorkeling, especially for first-timers.The east end is just a short drive away with memorable dining options. The manager, Karen, responded quickly to our questions and provided fishing rods for the boys. When you drive to the George Town area you realize how much traffic and noise you are shielded from by being on the north side.
Wonderful property with a fantastic location. We loved this quieter part of Grand Cayman. Our biggest highlight was the snorkeling right out back. So much to see! Even on windier days, the water inside the break wasn't too bad. We also took a fishing/snorkeling excursion that was fun. (We found them on Fishingbooker.com, Captain Daniel.) It was lobster and conch season and we ended up with some of both along with fish. It ultimately fed us on two different nights. We enjoyed the Botanical Garden and the Cayman Parrot Sanctuary. Tukka East End and The Caboose (Frank Sound Road north of Botanical Garden) were excellent. Property is very to close to Crystal Cave and that was a good thing to do on an especially windy morning. Starfish Point is about 15 minutes away...I would recommend doing that near sunset, otherwise, there's not a lot to see other than a few starfish. We did our one big grocery trip right after we landed at Hurley's and then Chisolm's worked for the rest of the trip. We also stopped at Caybrew Brewery on our way to the airport going home - great bar with a fantastic food truck in the parking lot - it was a nice way to end our time on Grand Cayman. On a future trip, we would hit the brewery as soon as we got there to buy some beer for the week. We drank Caybrew throughout our stay.
Our family of 7 enjoyed the stay at Coca Kai. We really liked the location and cleanliness of the house. A vehicle is necessary for getting around. Thanks for the hospitality.
Nothing can beat the beautiful ocean views right outside your back door. We enjoyed this property with our 5 kids and 3 grandchildren (ages 1-3). Everyone had the option of going from the beach to the pool, to the kitchen for snacks, to the bed for naps all right there. The house is well equipped with most everything you need. We snorkeled around the north side and decided the snorkeling right out back was some of the best! This gave those antsy people something to do and what beautiful marine life right there. Go to Rum Point if you want a calm beach where the kids can access the water more easily or Starfish beach is a short drive away. There are sea turtles off the dock at Rum Point if you want to snorkel with those ... so cool! We also loved our tour with Captain Ben to Stingray City and some other great spots. The road is busy and loud if you're staying in one of the bedrooms by the street, otherwise you don't hear much at the back of the house. We stocked up on groceries at Hurley's (Foster's was a mad house) and then used the local market 4 doors down for random purchases. You can walk there on the beach. We had some strong winds but on the days that were calmer we used the kayaks which were fun. Having the dock to launch from for snorkeling was a plus. Not the best water entrance for young kids to hang out at - too much coral - but they enjoyed playing in the sand and the pool. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off - very convenient. The house was immaculate.
We had a great stay at Coco Kai. We love this side of Grand Cayman. It is quiet. The house is perfect. Nice bedrooms, two nice family rooms, nice dining area, nice kitchen, nice pool, great beach, and great snorkeling! The owner was pleasant to work with. He set us up with where to get our groceries and an excursion to stingray city with Captain Ben. It was great quality time with our family! I would highly recommend Coco Kai. We travel a lot to VRBO properties and this definitely deserves 5 Stars across the board!
