Welcome to Gambler's Getaway! Located a super short 5 minute drive to Foxwoods Casino and only 18 minutes to Mohegan. Our cozy cape is the perfect place to save some money on a hotel room after a great day of whatever fun awaits you! All furnishings are brand new in December 2022 so enjoy!

Our stay was fantastic. The description was accurate and the property was clean and fully functional. Our only concern before arriving stemmed from some reviews we read that said the AC could be better but we were pleasantly surprised to find AC units in the windows of every sleeping area which kept the entire place more than comfortable. In fact, we stayed the first week in August and actually shut them off while we slept. The photos I've attached were taken just before we checked out.

House is cute and mostly functional. However, it was 80 degrees when we arrived. The owner isn’t local so he had to send a random person over to install ac units. There are so many mice in the basement. Some alive, some dead. And the loft upstairs has no ac at all and it was horribly hot. Advertising ac is not accurate. And the trash does not come on Monday. It’s Friday. And the trash was so full when we arrived.

Very Disappointing Stay

Worst rental experience. - Our first impression was seeing trash barrels lying on the ground as we pulled in and no outside lighting. The owner left no inside lights on either. We drove by the place twice trying to find it. - We had to hunt down the owner for the code to get in. - Unlike the pictures on VRBO, there were no towels on the upstairs bed, leaving two towels for four people. Mattresses were hard as rocks. -We began to notice they really cheaped-out everywhere they could (soap bottle in bathroom had water added to it, dingy shower curtain, mold in the shower, 1 ply toilet paper, throw pillows as bed pillows.) Not enough to make us leave but definitely disappointing...But when we found mice droppings in the kitchen on the second day that was it. Rotted wood by the entrance door is likely where they were getting in. My daughter has a phobia of mice. -We reached out to the owner to let him know of the issues and that we did not want to stay the 2nd night. I sent him pics of the curtain and mold. I sent him a video of the soap bottle completely watered down (I'd share pics/video here if it was an option). My wife had cleaned up the droppings or we would have sent that pic too. -Instead of working with us, he accused us of lying and trying to rip him off, because we had found a better rental in the area. I guarantee we did not. We drove back to NH that night. Not a good place coupled with an uncompassionate owner that calls guests liars. You can find better.

Nice stay

This was perfect for what we needed as we had an event at the Foxwood Casino. It wasn't too far from Mystic which was good for us when we wanted to venture out. The only thing I would say needs to be clarified is that, though there is AC, it's a window unit in one bedroom down stairs and one upstairs. The first day we arrived it was a very hot day so that was a little disappointing but the rest of the week wasn't as hot and we were able to run the fan in the kitchen and use an extra fan we bought in the opposite side of the upstairs bedroom. There also is another bed uptairs, which was nice. Overall it was a nice stay with access to the washer and dryer, pots/pans and dishes etc...

It smelled really nice and was spacious. The Samsung tv plus had excellent channels. We had a couple of glitches but were resolved by the owner. And it’s nice being within close distance to Foxwoods.
