ABOUT CASA DOS COCOS

Casa Dos Cocos is located inside the Guiones Beach Club, just a 2-minute walk to the beach via a private path. This spacious and comfortable home is ideal for families, comfortably sleeping up to eleven guests (9 guests in the main house and 2 in the private studio). With two buildings and 24/7 security, it offers a private and tranquil retreat while still being just a short distance from town.

Designed with a modern yet homey feel, the house features four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a TV room, a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living areas, a balcony, and a deck. At the heart of the property, the pool and BBQ area serve as the perfect gathering space, bringing everything together. The decor blends authentic Balinese furniture from the owners’ time in Bali with local Costa Rican touches, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

ON THE INSIDE

Three bedrooms grace the main house. The master suite offers a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom, and ample closet space. The kids’ bunk room has bunk beds and a single bed and is a hub for youthful delight. The garden-facing bedroom has both a king bed and a trundle bed, making this room ideal for young families. There is also a desk in this room, so it can double as an office, catering to remote work needs. For entertainment, a game room awaits with a large flat screen TV, board games, 2 large sofas, and beanbags.

The living room is open plan and features a large dining room table, a cozy sitting area and the kitchen. The dining room table can seat 12 comfortably and is made from a single piece of wood. The sitting area has a sofa and two seats around a Balinese coffee table and is a wonderful place for a morning coffee and to view the birds and monkeys in the trees outside. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences – fridge with icemaker, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and a Berkey water filter. There are also 4 stools in the kitchen so you can sit and chat while preparing food or drinks.

The studio bedroom is accessed from the outside, above the covered rancho. It is equipped with a king size bed, full bathroom, large desk and sliding doors out to the west-facing terrace and steps up to the roof deck. This is ideal for anyone who wants a bit more privacy, needs to get some work done or simply wants to take in the views. The roof deck is ideal for stargazing while listening to the waves crash a short distance away.

ON THE OUTSIDE

The kitchen opens to a covered patio with wonderful views of the pool and the jungle around. Here there is a large round table as well as a separate seating area with two sofas and a Balinese coffee table. The ceiling has two fans to help keep you cool while you eat and socialize.

Up a short set of steps you will access the saltwater pool, equipped with two built-in stools so you can sit and enjoy the scenery. These stools are close to the window, so you can open the large sliding window and the people in the pool can chat with the people in the living room. The pool is approximately 5.5 feet deep and the water stays cool thanks to the sun protection from the surrounding trees.

One step above the pool is the covered rancho. This houses 4 large comfy chairs facing the pool and the ocean, a charcoal Weber BBQ grill, and another large round table. The rancho area has a half bath, a sink, lots of counter space, and two beverage refrigerators. This is west-facing, so an ideal place to spend the afternoon relaxing, jumping in and out of the pool, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. This is also how you access the laundry room, where we have a washer and dryer.

The property is surrounded by lush gardens, attracting local wildlife like monkeys, parrots, and iguanas, adding to the authentic Costa Rican experience. While the home offers plenty of space, parking is limited (2 small cars), so guests should plan accordingly.

LOCATION IS EVERYTHING

Guiones Beach Club is situated in the prestigious K Section of Nosara, which means that Casa Dos Cocos offers one of the best locations in town. It’s just a two-minute walk to some of the best surf at Baker’s Beach, as well as the beautiful tide pools at the south end of Playa Guiones. The home is also close to the Bodhi Tree, a well-known yoga and wellness retreat, and just a short distance from North Guiones, where you’ll find a variety of shops and restaurants.

From the house, you can literally hear the waves, making it easy to start your day with the sounds of the ocean. It’s the perfect balance of being close to the beach and town while still tucked away enough to enjoy quiet mornings and peaceful afternoons.

OCCUPANCY

The home is most comfortable for up to 9 guests, but we can accommodate 10–11 guests upon request. If your group is larger than 9, please reach out before booking so we can share the detailed sleeping arrangements and ensure the setup will work well for your stay.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

Please be aware that Playa Guiones, Playa Pelada, and the surrounding areas of Nosara are rapidly growing communities, which means construction noise may be present between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. We make every effort to keep our guests informed about ongoing construction that may impact their stay, but unfortunately, we do not always receive advance notice of new projects.

LOCAL QUIRKS – IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS AREA OF COSTA RICA

While Costa Rica's infrastructure is steadily improving, it's important to note that some things are beyond our control. During your stay, you may experience occasional dust, bugs, and power, water, or internet outages. These are common in the area and part of the experience of immersing yourself in a different country and culture.

Casa Dos Cocos is equipped with 2 separate internet connections (Starlink and Liberty, the local Costa Rican provider), to help ensure you stay connected as much as possible in this remote jungle location. If staying connected is essential during your visit, we recommend looking into internet data plans available through your cellular provider. The house is also equipped with solar power and a battery backup system, so it remains powered during short power outages, even at night. 

There are backup water tanks and a water filter system, which filters and softens the water, making the water safe to drink from the tap. Regarding plumbing, please note that the septic system in Nosara does not allow toilet paper to be flushed (with a few exceptions). We kindly ask that you adhere to this guideline during your stay.

We are committed to providing the best possible experience, but we want to ensure that all guests are aware of these local quirks before booking. Refunds and concessions will not be provided for the above-mentioned issues, as they are beyond the control of the homeowner and property manager. IMPORTANT NOTICE

Kindly note that while we honor our cancellation policy, any processing or payment gateway fees incurred during your reservation are non-refundable in the event of a guest-initiated cancellation, even if your cancellation qualifies for a full or partial refund. This policy does not apply if the host cancels the reservation.

This property is located inside the Guiones Beach Club, which is a secure gated community with a guard at the gate and regular patrols at night. Even with these precautions in place, theft can still occur in Nosara. To ensure that your stay in Nosara is safe and enjoyable, please take the following precautions during your stay:

• Always keep doors and windows locked when you're away from the property and at night. If your sliding doors or windows have security bars, please ensure they are in place. If you cannot find the bars, contact us as soon as possible.

• Never leave valuables or personal items unattended when you leave the house, including electronics, identification, and anything else of apparent value.

• Do not leave valuables in your car while you’re out, and avoid leaving anything on your front or back patios unattended.

• If your property has a security alarm, always set it when you leave, even for short periods of time.

While a security guard is not included with your rental, we can arrange for one upon request. If you'd like to hire a security guard for part or all of your stay, please let us know during the booking process and specify the hours you'd like covered.

Please be aware that, even with these precautions in place, theft can still occur in Nosara. Rent Nosara, the homeowner, and the property manager are not responsible for any loss of items due to theft.
