Dream Getaway

This is our second extended stay at Kathy and Bill's beautiful spot nestled in the hills near the Claremont Resort. It's our number one favorite vacation residence--an absolute dream: bright and airy with elegant, modern decor. I'm a Bay Area native, and this place feels like home. My husband and I love it! The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and literally a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from the Domingo Ave shopping area, home to the legendary Il Fornee bakery, Peets, Rick and Ann's and other stores. Once again, we especially appreciate the amount of care and detail that Kathy and Bill put into this welcoming spot along with their housekeeping team. They are warm and generous hosts, and we can't recommend this place enough. Already thinking about our next visit!

Luxurious Gem of a Home

We cannot recommend this home enough. We call it a home because that's exactly the way the owners made us feel. The house itself is beautiful and in an ideal location near the UC Berkeley campus. We were able to take pleasant walks through the Berkeley paths and neighborhoods, including to several cafes and shopping. Parking was never a problem. As for the house itself, the décor is elegant and tasteful, the kitchen fully-equipped, the technology (TVs and WiFi) seamless, the beds supremely comfortable, and the living areas spacious, allowing for plenty of space to work or relax. But the owners are what made this place perfect for us. We were in town for a medical procedure for our Cal student, and they went out of their way to make sure the house was fully ready for us, including several thoughtful touches to make our stay even more comfortable. Perhaps our most important expression of our views about this home is that we already plan to stay again!

We loved our stay in this lovely home! Absolutely fabulous! The house is filled with light, beautifully furnished, and everything used in the house is of the best quality. A VRBO I never want to leave

After finding this home, I honestly cant imagine ever staying in the city again. While the photos are amazing, they do not capture the the extent of beauty and detail this home offers. I can talk all day about the architecture and design of the home, but there is so much more to talk about. The comfort and charm of this home goes beyond words. I truly felt at home. The neighborhood restaurants in Berkeley are wonderfully inviting. I can only sum this up by saying it is truly one of the most AMAZING and an all time favorite VRBO! Do yourself a favor and stay here! Many Many THANKS! P.S. Only down side... I couldnt take the bed home. I didnt inquire about the brand of mattress that was FABULOUS. You wont want to get out of bed!

We loved the home away from home feel and our hostess was so gracious.

The location is wonderful, close to campus, easy access to the freeway, local shops and a walk to the Claremont. The house was extremely comfortable and quite lovely. My daughter and I shared the home while visiting our son at UC Berkeley on his last parents weekend and we wish we had discovered it before! It was so quiet and the beds so comfortable that we slept better that we ever did at the Shattuck! Everything has been carefully thought out from kitchen utensils suitable for making a meal to laundry and phone chargers. We could tell that Kathleen truly wants her guests to feel welcomed and at home. The beauty of the sunny rooms and decor combine to provide a restful and serene environment, which we both needed! Highly recommended!

This was our sixth year at 36 Domingo and we can't wait to return. Everything about it is wonderful! Honestly we can't think of one thing to improve our stay. Thank you so much Kathy and Bill for once again a great ten days!

We look forward to visiting our daughter again soon, and will definitely book in advance to stay here. This is a quiet neighborhood, with an impeccably clean home in a beautiful garden setting.
