You will love my place because it is fun to live near the beach. It is fun to watch the people walk by with surfboards and wetsuits. It is fun to feel the salt air and sun on your shoulders. No trouble parking at the beach. You are already there. This unit is a really pretty spacious apartment with privacy and convenience of living in your own home in the Oceanside beach community.

Laundry is on site. Outside shower with hot and cold water. Wash off all of the sand on you. Bring your surfboards and equipment. Enjoy the Patios and Courtyard. Miles of beaches within steps from the apartment. Close to Carlsbad Village, Oceanside Harbor, Oceanside Pier, Legoland and Encinitas.

We stayed at this property recently and had a great experience overall. I wanted to share a few details that weren’t clear from other reviews.The biggest question for us was the train. The property sits right next to a railroad crossing, but the noise isn’t what you might expect. The trains do not blow their horns. The main sound comes from the crossing bell as the gate lowers. If you’re outside or have windows open, it’s noticeable. Inside with windows closed, it’s very faint. I’m a very light sleeper and never needed earplugs.The bell rings about 90 seconds each time. At peak times, trains came through roughly every 5 minutes. Commuter trains that you can take to San Diego stop in the evening, while cargo trains run at night less frequently.The location is a big plus. You’re very close to the beach. At high tide, it’s mostly boulders for sitting and watching the sunrise or sunset. At low tide, it becomes a sandy beach that’s great for swimming and relaxing. It feels like a hidden gem since it’s less crowded than the main beach.You’re about 1.2 miles from the sandy beach pier with shops and restaurants, and less than a mile the other direction to another beach and a great breakfast spot.The unit was clean and well kept. Comfortable beds, plus free laundry and a full kitchen.Communication was solid. Calls were answered faster than texts or messages through the system.We would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Location and Great Host!Our stay at 212 Oceanside Blvd was exactly what we hoped for and more. The location is amazing—just a quick walk (less than half a block) to the rocks overlooking a beautiful beach. It’s not a beach for swimming, but it’s perfect for morning walks, sitting with a coffee, or catching a breathtaking sunset. For swimming, it’s an easy and scenic walk—about a mile and a half—to the Oceanside Pier, where you’ll find great beaches and lots to explore.The unit itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The shared courtyard patio was peaceful and made for a nice place to sit and unwind. Just note that it is a shared space, not private, but we still enjoyed it!Carol, the host, was wonderful—friendly, responsive, and very attentive. She quickly replied to a couple of questions we had, which made the whole process feel easy and welcoming.There is a train track nearby, but the sound didn’t bother us much. It’s mostly the crossing guardrails, not the train itself, and we got used to it quickly.Overall, this rental was a great find—close to everything, steps from the beach, and hosted by someone who clearly cares about the guest experience. We would absolutely stay here again.

Carrol the Property manager was very nice and helpful, told us about events going on and good places to eat. She was available whenever we needed her. The location to the beach was very nice and the property was well maintained. I wish the beds were better but othwr than that a very nice experience.

Renter Beware

I am trying to find a way to make this review sound as nice as possible but also tell the truth. The pictures listed are not the unit that you stay in. It is a completely different unit. Carol is a very greedy dishonest individual. This place was so horrible and deceiving that I took my family and we left after one night. Carol stated I would get a full refund and then when I refused to send her money she issued me not even half of the amount that I paid. The unit was extremely dirty as she stated her cleaner was sick. There is spiders downstairs. We were placed in a rear facing unit that was run down and smelled badly. The unit was not very clean, the refrigerator was disgusting and the furniture was dirty and gross. The floors were not swept and the fan in the upstairs bathroom was falling out of the ceiling! Carol, the owner, is SO inappropriate. When she thought we were not in the unit she walked up to the door and would just walk in. The is not a beach front or a couple steps to the Sandy beach. The ocean is about 3 or 4 blocks away but is very rocky and is no accessible. The beach is about a mile or 2 down. My overall experience this was not a safe place for my family and the owner over steps her boundaries.

If you want good night sleep don’t stay here

Pros: the owner is nice lady and it near the ocean that it! Cons: 1) Property next to the train railroad so you heard the train all days and all night. Seem like the train runs more at night. 2) The beds are so squeaky like the cheap one at motel 6 with non match bedsheets. Pillow is so thins and flat random cushions on the bed. 3) You get 1 small bottle of shampoo for you so better bring soap and other things.

Better than Expected

Don't let the negative reviews sway you here. I chose to ignore the negative reviews and take a chance, because it was last minute for a holiday weekend. I wasn't sure what else I was going to find without overpaying. I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised. Carol was most accommodating, allowing us to check in early. The unit was adorable and comfortable. The train tracks are near, but the trains aren't that frequent or loud. They didn't disturb us watching TV, playing games, or sleeping. It's only a couple blocks from the beach and a little over a mile from the pier and all that goes along with it. If I am ever back in the area, I will absolutely consider staying here, again.

The Property Manager Carol was absolutely Amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a Wonderful Stay! The Townhouse was Beautiful, Clean and in the Best location!! The home was clean and walking distance to the beach. We ended up choosing to drive to the pier area for the beach. Walking on the beach at low tide is nice. As long as the evening is cool enough, closing the windows and sleeping w the fan on drowns out the sound of the train. If you’re a super light sleeper than it can be hard to sleep.

Renters BEWARE!

We booked a unit with the anticipation of opening our front door and stepping out into the sand… or at least having a balcony to see the ocean from like in the pictures… neither of these were true for us. The water is about 2 blocks away (the beach is only a beach in this location at low tide), you have to walk down a ramp down to the sand because of the break wall. If the tide is high there is no beach and, unless you’re a strong swimmer or paddler, you will get slammed into the rock break wall by the waves. This property is right next to the train tracks and trains run about every 15-20 minutes. The horns blow and the warning bells ring every time the trains pass. As with most beach city properties, this property does not have air conditioning so we had to sleep with the windows open. As you can imagine it is very difficult to sleep with trains running into the night. The property itself is pretty from the front of the building, but we were placed in a rear facing unit that was run down and smelled badly. The unit was not very clean, the refrigerator was disgusting and the furniture was dirty and gross. The floors were not swept and the fan in the upstairs bathroom was falling out of the ceiling! There is no reserved parking so if you get a spot close to the building don’t leave! Carol, the owner, is SO inappropriate. When she thought we were not in the unit she walked up to the door with a couple that was interested in renting the unit we were in. She was shocked when we were there and stammered and stuttered her way around explaining that “She was just going to show them where the unit was”. The couple obviously intended to see the unit because they were mad that we said no they couldn’t come walk through the unit while we were renting it. Carol came back and said that the unit was going to be empty so we were welcome to a late check out. The next morning (check out day) we were packing up and the kids were eating breakfast and Carol unlocks the door and says “Oh, I thought you left already”, ummm no, if she’d have knocked she would have known that (and it wasn’t even check out time yet!)! Then she stands there staring at us and asks to help us pack! Again, no... There is not a doubt in my mind that she was in the unit while we weren’t there, things were moved and rifled through when we got back from the store. This was not the relaxing quick trip to the beach that we were hoping for! We do NOT recommend renting from this person.

Good location, clean

The location is very close to a beach. It’s a rocky beach, and not a lot of sand. We walked to the pier for a better beach. It’s about a mile walk. The neighborhood is older, but safe. There is NO AIR CONDITIONER. Not sure what a “portable AC” means in the listing, but all we had were fans. It was very very hot , especially in the upstairs bedrooms. The twin bed is hard and makes loud squeaks at the slightest movements. We had to leave the windows open for some air so we heard the train noise all night. Some positives were: the kitchen had everything we needed! The place was clean wen we arrived. There were plenty of linens too. Communication with the owner was timely and she was very nice. Overall, very clean and good location.

Overall we had a great stay. When I reviewed the listing, I was under the impression that it was on the beach. But its 2 blocks from the beach. Which was not bad. Just not what I expected. Just wanted to inform any future renters. The condo was comfortable and had everything needed for our 6 day stay. All we needed to buy was groceries. which made it very nice. Carol was very informative and helpful. For what we paid, it was well worth it. The train is loud throughout the day and night. so be prepared. And Parking is very limited, but always found a place. Overall. we had a nice restful vacation. thank you Carol and VRBO.

Great Fourth of July Getaway

Overall I had a great experience with Carol and her property. Everything was very clean and organized and the space itself was great! I brought cleaner just in case (to be extra safe for COVID) but didn’t need to use anything. Lots of linens if needed and everything else you would need for a great stay, including dishes and all. Carol herself was very friendly and made sure we felt at home. She let my sister and I borrow a couple of beach chairs and an umbrella for our little beach day and it was so nice having those since the beach was high tide and very rocky. Carol also greeted us and made sure we were settled in and had everything we needed and then it was easy just leaving her the key once we left and checked out. The location was also great, a longer walk to the pier (1.5miles) but it was a nice one along the beach boardwalk to catch the sunset. There’s also a lifeguard tower overlooking the beach about a block away and that was nice to get a good view of sunset too. Carol also recommended we check out Sanchos for tacos and it was delicious! I’ll definitely be back in Oceanside soon :)

Decent condo with a good location BUT so many other things would make me never rent here again

Two couples just returned from our 6 night stay at Carol's condo. I am going to try to provide as much info as possible so you can decide if this is the right place for you so please read the entire review. Positives: The condo was clean and newly updated and had a great location. You are within a block of the beach and within walking distance of several restaurants and bars. The beds were also very comfortable and a portable Ac unit was provided as both bedrooms are upstairs. Things you should know that will hopefully help with your decision to book or not: 1. Trains are very loud throughout the day and again in the early morning. This was not a major issue for us, but if you have children it definately would be. 2. The owner of the units lives onsite and has two German Shepard Puppies. There is a shared area with a few tables that guests can use outside your patio door.... the dogs are allowed to roam around and the owner does not clean up after them so expect dog feces to be in that area as well as in front of your door etc. there is also a life size mold of a small deer that sits on your patio table because the owner does not want her dogs to chew it up. We rarely used this area as it was extremely uncomfortable to go out into that area which is a shame. 3. So many more things but too top it off I got a $56 parking ticket on street sweeping day. Owner never said the car should be moved but did pay $26 towards the ticket. Bottom line is this place is way overpriced. The owner needs to learn how to make things much better for her renters. If you have children, are allergic to dogs or dog feces, are easily awakened or you just want a hassle free vacation I would suggest renting elsewhere. When we rented the unit their were no reviews on this property and I will never again rent a property with no reviews. Carol seems to be a nice person who may be in over her head which is a shame as this could be an acceptable property.

Impossible to rest. Extremely loud trains round the clock right outside window. Iffy linens towels

No previous reviews of this place although it wasn't a first time rental as everything in it felt old and unclean. Every morning Soft spoken owner disciplining pets at about 6 am under your window after Five sleepless nights because all the freight passenger & commuter trains honking and clanking back & forth as the intersection gates open & close with ringing alarm bells made our desperately needed vacation extra miserable when she casually suggested buying earplugs as a solution. The extra long overblown promotional property description was so overly stated that I regret not finishing reading it to the bottom where it briefly mentioned passing trains situation. Way too expensive for what was offered, including higher property protection plan and others. This place maybe good for younger less caring groups But not for middle aged professionals.
