Well first my aunt got stuck in the elevator for almost an hour and a half. The phone and emergency button dud not work. The paper in the elevator showed it hadn't been inspected in over 7 years. Then first room that we got put in had a bunch of stuff that didn't work. The second room wasnt much better. The phone didn't even work to call the fron desk.
Aside from the remodel, it was a pretty decent stay. Quiet and relaxing. The only thing was the gym was still under construction and there was only one elevator which could have used a bit more detail in cleaning. But the staff was very nice and very helpful.
The 9 days we were there (6-15 Aug) the hotel was under renovation and none of the amenities were working except the indoor pool. The gym and hot tub weren't available and staff couldn't give us any plausable updates. The side doors to the hotel were unavailable, only the bottom floor ice machine worked, the vending machine was empty, only one elevator worked. I couldn't add my reward points to my stay due to a transition from Wyndham to Marriott. It would be understandable as all hotels go through renovations and that's a good thing, if we had been made aware when we made our reservation so we knew to expect the construction and inconvenience, but we didn't know, nothing was posted informing us. We used Hotels.com to book, but that shouldn't matter for information regarding the hotel status.
Theyâve been under outside renovations for some time, and even though the inside was clean, the outside of the motel looked in disarray and the outside garbage cans were overflowing most of the time. But the staff were great.
Property is currently underground a renovation, with a number of its amenities closed. Construction crews still working in the property as guests are staying there generating noise and traffic.
I chose this hotel because it had good reviews. I donât know what the deal was but this place was a hole! Gym, spa, ice machine, one of two stairs and one of two elevators were all out of order. Missing ceiling panels, some showing labels that said âleak.â There was a âstop workâ notice on the front door - apparently they were doing remodelling without a permit.
Lots of trophies at the front desk since 2016 suggesting a good hotel - Iâll think less of those in future.
I truly felt deceived by this stayâŠ.
The hot tub had strong chemicals in it, it burnt my swimsuit and skin. My chest hurt after. This was reported by another couple as well also in the hot tub. The night auditor explained that it was an ongoing problem. When I spoke to the day manager, he giggled (I assumed due to confrontation, not to be rude) and mentioned that the inspection was fine, but yet an ongoing problem. Hopefully they'll consider people's safety and take this matter seriously. Thankfully, I'm healthy, but this could have been a very dangerous situation for someone in poor health. Obviously the company the hotel is hiring as an outside contractor isn't doing their job, and the hotel is choosing to not hold them accountable. Room was fine except for a broken toilet handle and a glue like substance on the seat. Breakfast was good and had a lot of choices. I was impressed by the quality for a hotel. Parking lot needed a good sweep as it had trash everywhere. If you don't swim, good value.... they didn't seem to take my concern seriously which is disappointing.
