‱ POOL HEAT:

Heating is available for $35 per day (plus tax) with a 5-day minimum and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Please note the attached spa is not a hot tub—it does not have jets, and it heats to the same temperature as the pool, not exceeding 90°F. The heating system uses heat exchange, which does not operate in temperatures below 50°F. No refunds will be provided if the pool does not reach the desired temperature in cold weather.



‱ GRILL:

Please note. Some of our homes may be pictured with a gas bbq grill or outdoor built in grill. If guests wish to use the grills, it is the guest's responsibility to clean the grill and replenish the propane tank if needed. A $50 charge will be applied if grills are left unclean. Exchange refill propane tanks can be purchased at numerous local locations. If the grill is locked up, then it is not to be used by guests as it is the homeowner's personal grill. If you would like to have a grill for your vacation, we can arrange a rental grill for your stay.

The house was very nice. The beds were comfortable. It is a very quick walk to the hideaway clubhouse where there was a pool, hot tub, lazy river, and a couple of slides. We had an issue at first with the pool not being heated but it was resolved after first couple of days. The host answered questions quickly. It was an enjoyable stay and we would stay there again.

The place is rundown & a dump. Stains on furniture, tv in family room didn’t work (was told it was in fact broken & another one was on order but they weren’t going to refund any money because all the other tv’s worked). Serious ant problem that was not addressed after complaint. The lock on the front door wouldn’t unlock from the inside so we had to go out the back door & put the code in from outside to get out(this was fixed after complaint). The mattress on my bed was 6 inches thick so every time I turned, I hit the steel bars underneath. The pillows were so flat might as well not used one. Red stains on the carpet in front bedroom. The shower curtain was cheap & too short so it stuck to me when I showered instead of magnets sticking to the inside of the bathtub. Only enough hot water for 3 showers at a time. No cookie sheet/pizza pan to cook frozen pizzas. The coffee pot leaked coffee no matter how carefully you poured it. The pool light didn’t work. Only one porch light lit up, other was burnt out. The community pool was nice but did not allow balls to be thrown in the pool so our 11 year olds didn’t want to go. There’s a sad miniature golf course in the middle of the pool they tried to do but it cost 7 a person. No outside food or beverages are allowed but you could buy their overpriced drinks & food except they were out of pretzels both days we were there. Pool slides were closed both days. Would definitely not stay here again & do NOT recommend it.
Ants all over my son’s yogurt on the kitchen table. They were also all over the front bathroom.

The property was very good as expected from the web page description and pictures. Location was excellent for visiting Orlando. Two small points, we found wet bedding from previous occupation in washing machine and could not locate coffee percolator pot. Other than that, perfect!

Perfect getaway

Our family of 8 (Grandparents, 3 adults, 3 kids 9,9,11) stayed here for 6 days in March over SPRING BREAK. We opted for the pre check in which saved tons of time. We had no issues getting in. This property is in phase 1 of story lake so it is within walking distance to the clubhouse. Bc it was spring break, we never used the clubhouse pool/ slides bc it was so unimaginably crowded and maybe a little unsafe so we stayed and enjoyed our pool when we could. We had paid for heating and the first night it was ok but the next day the pool was 100 degrees . We called to have the heat adjusted and then it became too cold. (That day the outside temp was only 72) The management team said the spa and pool needed to be the same temp which was new to me. We unfortunately didn't get to use either the last part of our trip bc the temp was either too hot or too cold. They said there was a broken part they were waiting on so hopefully the next family doesn't have the issues we had. Would stay here again.

Great for family

We had a great time at this property. Our kids swam everyday for hours in our pool. We did pay to have the pool heated. The hot tub is heated that way. We also enjoyed the community pool. The community pool was very crowded on Sunday but during the week it wasn’t terribly busy. Plenty of chairs and no lines at the water slide. A couple of tips- if you’re planning to stay for the whole week, be prepared to buy more toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, sponges, garbage bags, etc. it doesn’t come stocked with much. Bring your own body soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc as well. Nothing is provided. There are also only 4 pool towels and 2 towel sets for each bathroom, so bring your own beach towels or plan to have the dryer running a lot if you have a big group. Houses are right on top of each other. We had some neighbors that were playing loud music but once you go inside it’s only noticeable in the back of the house.

Great house, noisy neighborhood

This house is beautiful and clean. It is very conveniently located - close to all the major theme parks and grocery stores. Read the arrival instructions carefully - they aren’t joking about needing to bring your own trash bags, coffee filters, paper towels, etc. However, the neighborhood is quite noisy at all hours. It seems like a lot of people use the VRBOs in this subdivision to party. We used noise machines and fan apps on our phones so that we could sleep, but it’s definitely an issue to consider before renting. Overall, though, we would consider renting here again.

Poor Communication

House was beautiful. Location was convenient. Communication with property management poor. No hot water in kitchen - limited office hours to report problem to correct - wasn't able to wash dishes or laundry in hot water. Most of the remotes needed batteries - no instruction on how to operate the TV remotes. General plumbing issue - drains were slow. Echo chamber in courtyard with surrounding homes. Andy did acknowledge us at the end when we communicated our hot water issue - said not to worry about cleaning dishes and laundry. Probably would not rent at Story Lake Resort again. Just not the right kind of property for my family.
