Birds, birds, birds! Recently, a experienced bird watcher identified 97 different birds in our area in one week! Million dollar view, mountain, rain forest, garden villa! $89 per night or $505 per week or $2020 per month.

Let Paradise Peak be your vacation within a vacation where everyday is 74Âș F and every night is 60Âș F (plus or minus 7Âș F). That’s everyday of the year, the most perfect temperature range on earth!

Our property caters to gardeners, nature lovers, birdwatchers, artists, writers and people who appreciate a stress free, tranquil setting. The rental Villa has the most comfortable king-size mattress in Costa Rica! The second bedroom loft has two twin beds and private upstairs patio.

The villa sits in a working citrus farm and is surrounded by a private eleven-acre botanical garden. This two-bedroom Balinese style Villa has a kitchenette, full outdoor kitchen and outdoor Jacuzzi. All artwork and decorative items were purchased during travels in Indonesia, Thailand, China, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Central America. The villa has a spectacular view of the Alto Cedral Cloud Forest, which begins on the mountain across from the Villa and continues over 200 miles into Panama. All you view is rainforest and it appears endless. The view to the left looks over the town of Orosi into Tapanti Rainforest. The view to the right looks over the Continental divide at the famed Mountain of Death.

About the owners: We, Steve and Nancy Riley, recently built the rental Villa, which rests 25 yards from our home. We also provide real estate services for those wishing to retire in a living Eden, home construction services and landscaping services.

Why visit Orosi? The Orosi Valley is a landscape of topical hues. The rainforest of Tapanti and the Alto Cedral Cloud Forest paint a background of various shades of green, teeming with wildlife. Every turn of the road provides a new diversity of colors and terrain. Located south of Cartago, the Orosi Valley is a true jewel. Famous for its beautiful views, colonial churches, coffee farm tours, white water rivers, hot springs and Lake CachĂ­, the Orosi Valley and surrounding towns are like a birthday present, waiting to be opened. The small quaint villages offer a unique location where you can relax and enjoy a real slice of Costa Rican life. During coffee picking season, September through January, the valley comes to life. The pickers can be heard singing and talking in the fields as they pick one of the worlds best coffee.

It is easy to book activities such as: guided local tours, mountain biking, horse back riding, hiking, water rafting, coffee farm and processing and other interesting activities to keep active during the day.

Very friendly welcome from the owner who came to pick us up in Orosi, as we couldn't find the address. The garden is beautiful, waking up with birdsongs is wonderful, and the terrace which offers a beautiful view of the garden, is very pleasant. However it's impossible ton be on th terrace from 5 PM, as there are lots of mosquitos. Finally, the interior of the house could do with a facelift, or at the very least a thorough cleaning.

We love Paradise Peak. We first stayed in 2019 and have been wanting to return ever since and have recommended it to anyone who is considering traveling to Costa Rica. I cannot imagine coming to Costa Rica and not staying here.The hosts Steve and Nancy are absolutely amazing: kind, joyful, helpful, accomodating - they make you feel like you are coming home. Lily the dog is also very welcoming and loves back scratches and belly rubs. Paradise Peak is so beautiful, peaceful and private. Nancy's meticulously manicured paths and gardens are a pleasure to walk. Picking oranges for juice in the morning and lemons and limes for lemonade was a wonderful treat, like drinking liquid sunshine.It was easy to just sit on the deck and watch the clouds float by the lush mountains and to listen to, and watch all of the birds. The villa is very well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. There is a lovely soft breeze so there is never a need for air conditioning. The hot tub on the deck is also a lovely treat at the end of each day.You do need a car, but the towns of Paraiso and Orosi are close, and you can find everything you need. There are many terrific restaurants and sodas in Orosi. The Ujarras Ruins, and the chocolate tour at Nortico (near Turrialba), and Tapanti Park were highlight activities on this trip.If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, serene place to de-stress, recharge, enjoy nature and birding, this truly is Paradise.

Heaven on earth

Stephen and Nancy are amazing host with an amazing place and some amazing stories of their world travels . We stayed a mth and were welcomed the entire time. We loved waking up to bird songs and breakfast with the most friendly dogs you have ever met. We loved the area so much we ended up buying property from them!

Lush green and tranquil

We have stayed at Steve’s and Nancy’s for two weeks and experienced their hospitality, friendliness and such a warmth. Loved the place : super comfortable, very private yet close enough to know the host is there when you need them. Steve and his helper rescued us from a very daring car trouble for which we were so grateful. We enjoyed the tranquility and spectacular views, jacuzzi on the huge terrace was awesome. We will go back next year.

360 degree views, beautiful botanical gardens with walking paths, Private Villa with lots of privacy yet owners are close by and available to assist with anything. They are the best hosts ever and showed me around my first day, took me to the farmers market and baked me delicious goodies during my stay. Jacuzzi tub on porch during a storm is a must!

It really IS beautiful

A little work to get there - might need 4-wheel drive, but so worth it. After being in 2 different locations around Costa Rica, when we settled in here my wife commented that she could finally "vacation". This place is SO zen! The birds and gardens are everything that is advertised and MORE. The house and deck are beautiful with perfect views. So many birds will call you to come join them in the morning. The hot water is the only thing that might need to be upgraded. Washing dishes at the kitchen sink needed hotter water - it never did get warm enough. Barely hot enough water in the shower, although it was enough. A slight bit of cold was added to make a good shower, so that was adequate. Just a little more house cleaning would have made this perfection! There were a number of dead bugs on the floors, and cobwebs/spiderwebs in places that should have been removed. But we ABSOLUTELY would come back. I walked the garden trails every morning, looking and listening to the wonderful symphony of bird songs.

It was a little difficult to find, however we made it. Loved, Loved, did I mentioned that we Loved it there. So gracious host we so loved them, so very nice and caring people. We cried to leave this beautiful area. The gardener did not speak English but was so very friendly. We Loved the dog's they had, Rottweilers so so friendly, we got some treats to give them and they showed up every morning like they knew us forever. They came to visit us in the morning while we sat on the patio.

Great getaway!

We loved the Paradis Peak villa! Steve and Nancy were wonderful hosts and gave several suggestions on activities available in their area. Loved our visits with the Rottie girls as well, they were a real treat. I would recommend contacting host for better directions than google maps. Roads can be a bit challenging. And did i mention the bird watching! Awesome!!!

Hard to get to, easy to love.

Steve and Nancy are the sweetest host. Steve made us a delicious "Texas pastry". They have the best dogs. The whole house and grounds are heaven on earth. Only minus was having to depart so soon! We are already planning to stay longer next time!!

A Special Place

This property is truly one of a kind. There exist multitudes of lavish descriptions, what is most impressive is the genuine kindness of the host, Steve Riley and his wife Nancy . Paradise Found

A beautiful villa set in an incredibly stunning location. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor patio and kitchen area very much and the king size bed was super comfy. I can't emphasize enough how beautiful this setting is. The hosts are very welcoming and were available to answer any questions and/or provide assistance during our stay. A close drive to a grocery store however you feel so far away from any city life here. The bird sights and sounds were pure magic. We would definitely stay here again!

Our Christmas stay was wonderful. After lots of driving and staying in different places landing at Stephen and Nancys place was heavenly. I’m he dogs became our pals immediately and made our stay even more sweet. Orosi was wonderful. We went to the local church for Christmas mass and visited the Irazu volcano at 9 am which was the best time to go to avoid crowds. All and all our stay was great. Stephen surprised us with an apple strudel for our sons birthday which was incredibly delicious and so thoughtful.

Nature lover's paradise

Fittingly named, Paradise Peak is nestled in the mountainous forest with gorgeous views. Our trip was in December and the weather was perfect: highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. (Open windows the whole time!). The villa was nicely appointed with art from all over the world, a very comfortable king size bed (and two single beds upstairs) and a fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed bird watching every morning (we identified 49 different species!) and hiking the villa grounds marvelling at the wide variety of orchids and heliconias. The hosts live on the grounds and were amazing! Our first day Steve drove us around showing us the local sights and helping us get the lay of the land. Nancy was a wealth of knowledge regarding the gardens that she designed (she also designed the villa!) All in all it was a fantastic trip.

Paradise Peak is indeed paradise

Terrific property and hosts. If you want to relax away from it all in a beautiful villa on a beautiful piece of property with a killer view of the mountains and valleys this is the place. My wife and I are typically on the go all day but we found ourselves looking forward to spending the mornings and evenings on the villa's balcony taking in the views of the valley, it's wildlife, and utter peacefulness. The hosts made sure we had everything we needed and more, including a trip around the key roads of the valley we'd need to drive on which proved extremely valuable. Can't wait to go back.

Amazing getaway

The property is beautiful and an absolute escape from daily stresses of the city. Steve and Nancy were so welcoming, answered all our questions and made sure the lights were on when we arrived "home" late..along with a fresh loaf of bread. We truly felt like the property was a little slice of heaven and wished we had more days to enjoy it. Only item of note, if you do not have a 4WD vehicle, the back entrance is not passable in the rain. Too steep for 2WD so plan accordingly.
