Park your car in the garage of this colorful Victorian, and walk to every Pacific Grove attraction from this ideal location right in the heart of town. Dining, shopping, the beach and the Monterey Recreational Trail are just steps away.

Built in 1916, the 1,092 sf home was recently renovated to offer modern conveniences along with vintage charm. Views of the Monterey Bay from its second and third floor bedrooms are fabulous and enhance the experience.

Exquisitely decorated with antique furniture and accessories, it’s like a trip to Pacific Grove’s past, from the old-fashioned front porch to the stained-glass windows.

The home is on a quiet lane, that runs parallel to the town’s main street. Close to Caledonia Park and three blocks from Lovers Point, it also has a back patio that is partially fenced for privacy.

The home is within walking distance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and just a few blocks from the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail, a popular place for cycling and walking. Also close by are the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach¼. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.

Guests enter the home via a short flight of stairs to the porch, where the front door opens into the cozy living room, with comfortable seating around an electric fireplace and hand-scraped hardwood floors. It’s a perfect spot to watch the 42-inch HDTV and enjoy conversation or a good book. Adjacent to the living room is an antique wooden dining room table with seating for 6.

Beyond the dining area is a fully-equipped kitchen with a vintage wooden telephone and a stained-glass window. Kitchen has a four-burner Jenn-Air gas stove, a deep double sink, custom tile floor and backsplash, and solid-surface countertops. Around the corner is a stacked washer and dryer and access into the attached garage.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
On the main floor with the living areas, the lower level hallway bath features a vintage clawfoot bathtub with shower, an old-fashioned wooden toilet tank and marble-topped vanity.

A curved staircase leads to the second floor.
Bedroom #1 has a queen iron bedstead, authentic antique furnishings and light fixtures.
Bedroom #2 has a beautifully carved queen wooden headboard as well as ocean views from the window.
Both queen beds have new mattresses (2023).
The bay can be seen even more clearly from the second-story balcony with cast-iron patio seating.

The second level bathroom has an antique vanity with a hammered metal sink as well as a shower with an over-sized shower head, custom tile work and glass door. A vintage ceramic toilet tank completes the décor.

A steep stairway from the second floor leads up to a third-floor loft (Bedroom #3) that’s ideal for children. It has a twin day bed with a Sleep Number mattress, as well as an additional twin bed, and ocean views from a slanted window.

The back yard has artificial turf, BBQ grill and patio seating. Parking for a small car in the one-car garage and another small parking space in the driveway.

Well-behaved small dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.

They are not kidding about the parking
 it’s a bit rough because cars are much larger than when the house was built. Also, the stairs to the top are EXTREMELY steep. I would not let a young child or an elderly person sleep up there. It’s an amazing property when with so many things so close by.

Location! Walk down to Livers Point to see a beautiful sunrise or walk to the midweek farmers market for some vegetables and live music. A shop rt drive to the aquarium, Carmel or point Lobos. The house was comfortable for parents and two grown children with a well appointed kitchen. Pleasant quiet neighborhood and comfortable beds, this house was a great launching point and nice place to return at the end of the day.

Beautiful, clean property

We loved staying at the Lavender House. Everything inside and around the house was clean and charming. My 2 year old son loved playing in the backyard, which was pretty much fully fenced in. The house is walking distance to Lover's Point, and amazing coffee shops, restaurants, and cocktail bars. We are already planning our return! The only thing I didn't like was the 4:00 p.m. check-in and 10:00 a.m. check-out times, which struck me as usually late/early.

Delightful home

Everything about our stay was easy. Walking distance to restaurants and the water, easy. Getting into the house, easy. TV operation, easy. Walking the dog and the smiling neighbors, easy. My teenagers loved the loft on the 3rd floor. Beds are comfortable and no stripping the beds, doing dishes or excessive cleaning up before checking out. Easy. Highly recommend.

Charm & location

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our spring break vacation. Wish we would’ve stayed longer here. The location is perfect! We walked everywhere. The house is very comfortable and had so much charm. It is an older home, so sound travels but that didn’t bother us. The bathtub is perfect for a nice soak after a day of walking. We loved our stay here and would come again.

We enjoyed our short stay in the lavender house. My daughter especially loved the upstairs loft area. I also received a sweet birthday welcome gift! Walking distance to town and great restaurants. The backyard is a cute place to hang out when it is a little warmer out.

Perfect taste of history with modern touches

What a lovely stay. Beautiful 1902 built home secluded right off the main drag of Pacific Grove. All the amenities of a modern home with the historic touches that make this property so unique. Terrific hosts with great communication. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to come back.

Fun extended weekend

This was such a cute little house. I have to give big props for the comfortable bed and bedding! I would suggest adding a cutting board and possibly a few more fans for women of a certain age (We did use the one fan we found! Thanks!), but that’s just me being nitpicky. We loved everything else. The china was so fun. The big bathtub. The cute loft! We loved this little charming house. The decor was really lovely. We had a nice dinner and played games at the table. Deer walked down the street like a Disney wonderland. :). Great place!
