We first arrived at the hotel and was shown the price list as they had no record of our booking, once found we were told our deluxe room was not available but in their defence a suite was given as compensation. First thing that hit us was the cleanliness which for a premium hotel was not to standard but I don't complain unless it is unhealthy. We went to breakfast the next day which was a great selection of Asian food and western and through t our stay we could not fault the food.
The biggest complaint was with the facilities, the pool was dangerous and dirty and the Pangeran Beach should now change its name to the Pangeran building site with rubbish tip. The beach was filthy, builders live on it who are building a "Toll Road" right outside the sea front. Any pictures of the hotel beach are at least 2 years old and please look at the real photos Ive attached. Staff are good and very helpful, Airport shuttle is 50% higher than a airport taxi but still cheap and last complaint is the WiFi is dire in the rooms. Sorry I would not stay here again. We actually left our bags in the room and flew to Medan for 2 days to a reserve instead of using the hotel.
I was a bit horrified with this hotel from the start , they were in the middle of renovations, the hotel looked very old & run down. I changed rooms 3 times in the space of 24 hours , the staff speak little English , & as for it being on the beach thatâs about it , you canât swim in the ocean & there building a free way on it They do have good restaurants, swimming pool , the gym is ok I found the beds comfortable, but this hotel is not the paradise the photos show you
This is well located hotel in Padang, with a pretty easy walk to town and the (small) shopping malls. Restaurants nearby. The beach is just 50m away. The hotel is a little tired and the facilities somewhat run down, but a renovation of the foyer and levels 4 & 5 was underway. This should refresh the property and it is much needed. The A/C in room was poor ..single speed and little or no temperature control. The staff however make up these shortcomings and were friendly and eager to please. As is often the case, restaurant food quality was ordinary and most dishes were lukewarm or even cold at breakfast.
I saw bad reviews regarding its maintenance and cleaness, but the room (deluxe) was big and clean enough. I don't have things to complain, but my colleague who stayed at superior room said the water for shower tasted rusty metal. I may stay here again but my colleague said no.
