Camp 1959 – Authentic 1959 Mid‑Century Retreat with Pool, Two Bonus Casitas & Mountain Views

This vacation rental is the epitome of what it should be like to vacation in sunny Palm Springs, it's where lazy poolside days become lazy poolside evenings with ease!

The property is extremely private, with the home's outdoor areas situated behind frosted glass doors that's walled with a high hedge perimeter, guests will enjoy the properties stunning unobstructed mountain views from multiple vantage points.

At heart a true 1959 Meiselman, Camp 1959 features 1,500 square feet of indoor living space. Signature Meiselman details can be seen through the home, including the clerestory windows, abundant glass facing the pool, tongue and groove ceilings, and Galley Kitchen layout.

French doors open into the great room, with the dining area just to the right- the open concept floor plan makes this getaway ideal for entertaining guests.

The great room features a large smart television, a gas fireplace, a sofa, and dual armchairs providing comfortable seating for reading, conversation, or TV viewing.

All three bedrooms in the main house feature a King size bed, comfortable furnishings, and decor that exemplifies a Palm Springs vibe.

The media system features a turntable with a collection of vinyl, as well as iPod integration to set the mood for each evening. When it is time to retire for the night, the casitas on the property will give each guest their own piece of paradise!

The outside pool area is where you'll want to spend most of your time enjoying that golourous sunshine. You can enjoy endless time in the refreshing pool as you float your worries away under the blue sky. This pool area is packed with additional amenties that we're sure everyone in your group will enjoy. These aminities include: a hammock, fire pit, outdoor dining table, seating arrangment, outdoor lighting, and a built-in gas bbq grill.

There's also two cabins that feature additional beds, wall mounted air conditioners, and televisions. These are a great option for those looking for some additional privacy outside of the main house. There's even a half bathroom located outside near the pool that can accomodate these rooms. One cabin features a Queen size bed, while the other showcases two twin size beds.

This home is conveniently located five minutes from the Palm Springs airport, downtown shops and restaurants, public and private golf courses, art galleries, and nightlife. Palm Springs area activities include world class golfing, hiking, botanical gardens, desert landscape parks, the Palm Springs Aerial Tram, tennis, gyms, horseback riding, and shopping (high-end outlet mall nearby).

Also enjoy nearby Joshua Tree National Park (an extraordinary national park set in the desert). Theme parks within a two-hour drive include Disneyland (in Anaheim) and Sea World (in San Diego).

International guests will find Palm Springs to be an ideal "home base" for day trip excursions to all the favorite Southern California destinations.

In order to keep the tranquility of the community, we ask that you be respectful and mindful of your neighbors while on vacation. Our homeowners have made this home available for others to enjoy with their responsible group that will treat the home and neighborhood with respect.

In order to maintain the highest quality of our homes and the peace and quiet of our neighborhoods, all guests must adhere to the city's and house rules. The City of Palm Springs prohibits music and loud noise. It strictly enforces these rules and prohibits parties, events, music, street parking, and disruptive guests. No music is allowed outdoors at any time. Quiet hours are between 9:00 pm and 10:00 am, and guests are asked to be inside during those hours and mindful of neighbors. Overnight guests shall not exceed the property's posted occupancy.

Poolside Vacation Rentals is local and available at any time. We care for our homes and our guests with a dedication to great hospitality. We are locally owned and operated and look forward to the opportunity to host you.

Friendly Reminder: Optional pool and spa heat is available at an additional cost of $69nightly or $345 weekly. Pool and spa heat is recommended October thru May. For this, we will preheat your pool and ensure it is heated upon your arrival to a comfortable 86 degrees. Additionally, you will have access to heat the spa to 102 degrees. Spa heat only is available at $25 nightly. (During hot summer months, spa heat only can be enabled at no additional charge. These months include July, August, September).

Pets welcome with addition $79 pet fee.

A perfect springtime getaway.

Five friends, five rooms, a pool, a hot tub and a beautiful pool deck and garden for relaxing all day and all night. It was a wonderful getaway. The kitchen was well equipped, allowing us to cook almost every meal during our stay. We also enjoyed listening to the vinyls in the house.

Nice Place, Management Needs Improvement

It was a really nice house in a good area in Palm Springs. Our family enjoyed our stay, especially how much space there was to lounge and relax. We did not appreciate being disrespected by the property manager when arriving and finding out the pool was not heated when we had payed for it to be. We called the after hours number since we arrived in the evening. We were told "it is common knowledge that when the pool is heated, the spa cannot be heated at the same time." The pool was at 82 degrees when the welcome book said it should be heated to 86 degrees. We told the manager on the phone we did not appreciate being talked that way when we were just trying to figure out why the pool was not heated. We were told that we can have a refund and somebody else would call us the following day and then hung up on. Then conveniently after the phone call, we were locked out of the main house. There is a keypad lock to the main house that somehow the dead bolt locked and we were unable to get back inside for a few hours. We tried to call multiple times with no answer. We were finally able to get a hold of a different person, Xinna, who was actually helpful and eventually was able to get a hold of the owner to provide the code. We were left outside with no keys, clothes, food, anything with a 12 and 4 year old. Not a great way to start our vacation. All we wanted to do was relax in the pool. We are still waiting on our refund from that first day.

Peaceful and private oasis

Had a wonderful long weekend stay. The house was equipped with everything needed to make it home away from home during the time. We enjoyed many hours of the day and evening lounging in the pool and taking in the beautiful view of the mountains.
