This “charming” apartment is in a truly historic Paris building, conveniently located in the Latin Quarter (but, quite spacious and mostly clean. It was so easy to get anywhere by foot or Metro. That said, it was amazingly spartan (don’t even expect salt & pepper in the kitchen or a soap bar in the bathroom) and lacking in basic comforts. Read the other reviews. Unfortunately, during our stay we discovered the stove wasn’t operational (the gas line didn’t seem to be hooked up) , it was unclear how to operate the radiators on some cool evenings, and light bulbs in fixtures were missing or broken. It felt really neglected. The apartment managers were actually extremely accommodating and responsive when I contacted them about these issues, but who wants to deal with having them make repairs when you’re out and about all day in one of the greatest cities in Europe? So forget trying to cook eggs with your croissants in the AM. Additionally, prepare to walk up 4 flights of stairs, and to enter through a rather grimy courtyard shared by the restaurants on the ground floor of the building. I don’t like to give poor reviews, but know what you’re getting into if the charming beamed ceilings and historic character of this apartment are an attraction…

This apartment is located in a great lively neighborhood convenient to many attractions. Walking distance to Notre Dame, markets, restaurants and more! The bedroom was spacious, as was the bathroom. We used the sofa bed so it made it a little less spacious in the living room but we were out of the apartment most of the time except to sleep!

The apartment is in a vibrant neighborhood in walking distance to so many offerings (museums, cafes, restaurants, metro stops, the Seine, etc.). It does require you to be able to walk up 4 flights of stairs, which was no problem for us. I was worried because of how bustling the restaurant downstairs was that it would be noisy at night, but this courtyard facing apartment was super quiet. I was also very pleased with the professionally cleaned linens and towels! The master bed and pullout in the living room were very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very minimally stocked (and we could only get the electric burner to work, not the 3 other gas burners) but it was fine for our needs. It is an old building and apartment so I would recommend the property managers give it a much deeper clean every so often (the light switches in the bathroom for example were really dirty) and to freshen up some items, like the very worn out/dingy bathroom mat by the toilet, to help compensate for the overall condition of the building. Also a note for guests, there is no shampoo/body wash/conditioner in the bathroom so just be sure to bring your own. Overall, we were very happy to have this great, charming space (loved the beams on the ceiling!) over a tiny hotel room for the same price.

Great location, place was clean and easy to find. Instructions to enter were clear. It was a bare bones type of place, would have appreciated the basics (shower gel, dish soap, additional toilet paper) as was indicated in the description.

The property was good with a few drawbacks. The good: The space was a good size and there was plenty of light and windows. Also, the location was awesome. We were within walking distance of a lot of the sites we wanted to see.The not as good: The beds weren't the best. If you need something more on the plush side, this isn't for you. If you prefer very firm, you'll be fine. The pullout was your average pullout bed.The place is a little rustic so it felt a little less clean. When places are very old, it is difficult to get them really clean. Having said that, it wasn't super dirty, just older. Finally, just be aware that the height of the floors is pretty high and so when you're walking up a flight of stairs it is more like a flight and a half. Plus the first floor is zero not 1, so the 4th floor is essentially the 5th floor but it feels like the 7th floor. It was pretty hot but they did bring us a fan when it was requested. We kept the windows open in the main room and ended up with mosquito bites. Also, it was a bit loud with the windows open.I have focused on some of the drawbacks so people can make an informed decision, but I still gave the property 4 stars because it has its good points and is located in a great neighborhood close to a lot of great sites.

Great location and very clean. The downside was the apartment was on the 4th floor and there was no lift. This apartment is great for a young family but more difficult for an older couple with luggage.

Overall the place needs a good upgrade to match the photos, and unfortunately the place didn’t live up to our expectations. It seemed worn down. It really wasn't cosy to be in the apartment, eg nothing on the shelves and only 1 very neutral picture on the wall. The kitchen worked fine, however needs more cups and glasses - we were 4 people and only three glasses. We were offered to buy new glasses, but didn't manage to find any to buy, and didn't want to spend our vacation worrying about that. The freezer in the fridge has something stuck in there. The sofa bed worked for our kids, however as a sofa it is worn out and fabric was torn. The carpet was really dirty and needs a big clean. The curtains was mounted wrongly making it difficult to open them properly. Lightbulbs was missing several places, the cupboards in general need a tidy up and we didn’t find any extra garbage bags for the bin, also the bag for the toilet bin was missing. The missing of toiletpapir and toiletries was a disappointment. We got offered a reimbursement, however we certainly just would have preferred not to have the hazzle. Note that the place was really cold during evening and night - only one small heater you can control. We won’t go back.

The apartment is quiet, rather large for Paris and in a good location. And if you think that "Parisian charm" is the equivalent for "run down", you'll be in the right place and find it very charming.
