Bedroom 2: Kingsize (5ft) Bed. Electric central heating (underfloor in bathroom and cloakroom), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Travel cot and highchair. Welcome pack.. Small patio with garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There 2 steps to the patio and 9 steps on the patio.. Hovera, meaning eight in Cumbrian sheep counting, is a modern terraced property found in the popular village of Glenridding, on the south shores of Ullswater. On the ground floor there is an open kitchen/dining room with all the mod cons and comfort levels that you would expect. With a sun room and separate living room, with comfy seating around the large wood burner and views of St Sunday Crag and Fairfield, you will find it difficult to tear yourself out of these rooms. On the first floor is a large twin bedroom, which can be made into a super kingsize on request, also boasting great views. The bathroom is also on the floor with a bath and separate large shower. The second floor takes you to a double bedroom with a kingsize bed.



If your ideal holiday involves walking or cycling then you are already on the path to one of the Lake District National Park’s most famous peaks, Helvellyn. Alternatively, you can enjoy the picturesque views directly from your front door. You only need to walk outside Hovera to be on a popular walking route, but as the property is also situated in Glenridding, you are also just a short drive from Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside if you fancy taking in the local shops, pubs and cafés. Shop and restaurant 400 yards, pub 200 yards.

Fantastic Christmas break!

Way cute cottage! Larger than the pictures showed. We enjoyed the sheep as neighbors, the pubs and restaurants were all dog friendly. The kitchen was really well equipped and the whole place was just stunning. Would totally recommend! Thank you!

What a great cottage.

What a great cottage. It has been finished to a high standard and feels like home and not a rental place where most stuff has been done on the cheap. The heating worked fine and was cozy all week. Great views from the main bedroom (huge room). It has hardly any garden and would not get the afternoon sun in the summer, but we stayed in November,so no probs. Loads of walks/wainwrights right on your doorstep,so can leave the car for most of the week. Would love to book it again for May,but seems to be fully booked already ! so that says how good it is.

fantastic location although local pub was very poor. Much better to sit on the lovely sun trapped patio. Could do with a few more glasses but apart from that a fabulously well stocked kitchen. Would defiantly return had a fabulous time.

Great cottage for the two of us plus dog. Paying extra for the dog then to be told there should be no trace of him on leaving seems a bit off. Could benefit from a coffee machine but overall a lovely holiday.

The cottage was beautiful - the best we have stayed in for facilities a real home from home, we felt so comfortable as soon as we arrived. The location was also one of the best for views and walks - definitely not for those with mobility difficulties though. Glenridding had some nice places to eat and despite it raining constantly all week we managed to get in some good walks. We found the only issue to be the hardness of the beds mainly in the twin room but that might just be preference as we are used to soft beds. Highly recommend Hovera.

We have stayed in many cottages in the Lake District and this is our favourite.

We have stayed in many cottages in the Lake District and this is our favourite. We loved the decor, high quality furniture and equipment, amazingly comfortable bed and extras not mentioned in the online info such as the downstairs toilet, pantry, heating in the glass porch so you can watch the views in all weather and the bed/blankets/towels for guest canines! Everything was carefully thought of and as for the location...incredible. So many beautiful walks from the door offering access to neighbouring valleys if you're a strong hiker and lots of great eating choices too. We found it hard to leave Hovera.
