The Portofino staff were all great: courteous, listened to our concerns, helpful, etc.
The following is meant as constructive criticism and in no way meant to denigrate any person or people. These are our observations and opinions on what would make this unit much more pleasing and livable.
The unit we rented (bldg 1, unit 809) has not been maintained well.
1. The plugs in the powder room and the second bedroom bathroom did not work.
2. There is a missing face plate on a plug on the dining side of the peninsula.
3. The doors to the balcony do not lock (not a big deal, but they should work).
4. The master shower leaks like a sieve as there is no gasket on the vertical edge of the glass door and the gasket on the bottom does not seal at the grout lines.
5. The water from issue 4 has damaged the baseboards, vanity base and lower portion of the walls in the primary bathroom.
6. The TV/Cable setup is probably the worst I have seen in 10 or more years.
7. The unit needs a paint job
8. The 2 kitchen non-stick fry pans are severely scratched and peeling.
9. Dryer makes a very loud noise, like a jet engine while running.
I'm guessing a little effort on TLC would make this unit much more livable, but right now it is showing its age. Overall the resort is wonderful.
